I'm a Brazilian filmmaker and artist. I live in Rio de Janeiro but I spent half of my days in the mountains nearby, since I run a artist residency space.

The reception was warm and welcoming. Bruno was very polite and helpful in getting oneself accuainted with the neighbourhood and the city. The neighbourhood was very peaceful and quaint with few tourists and nuisances. Located at walking distance to the must see neighbourhoods of Lapa and Santa Theresa, Gloria is a very good location to stay in Rio. Subway, local busses and all amenities are located right down the street from the apartment. Easy and convenient access to the beaches and other important sights. The apartment was as described, roomy and sunny. The view from the apartment included nearby rooftops, the Sugarloaf Mountain and a slit to the ocean, which were very nice while having breakfast or enjoying a beer on the hammock. Kitchen is a twee small for cooking bigger meals, but sufficient for breakfast. The bathroom was clean with new countertops and shower. The warm water heater and wi-fi worked well. With a 24h concierge, the building was old as is the neighbourhood. Not for visitors seeking luxury or tip top tidyness, but for get go convinience with down to earth local flavor. We definitely recommend.

Bruno was in town for the ISEA conference and was very busy during the day, so we didn't see much of him. He left the room in great condition and was quiet and courteous. He borrowed one of our bikes for his stay and then rented it for the following week when he remaining in Albuquerque. Great guy and a terrific guest. Would recommend to other hosts!
