This place was perfect.Great price and very clean apartment. The host Lauren was very nice and helpful. We had a fantastic stay here
Chris is an awesome host! We enjoyed our stay in his apartment so much! He gave us a perfect introduction with do's and don'ts of NYC, also he offered us everything we needed. The apartment was so clean and the neighbourhood was quiet with a busstop and supermarket very close to the house. It took us 10 minutes to get to Port Authority with the bus.
Whenever you are going to stay at Chris home, go down the street to JF Kennedy Blvd - you will have one of the best views to see Manhatten Skyline. We stayed there during New Years and our stay ended with a Big snowstorm. He was even so nice, that he drove us to the airport due to the fact that with weather conditions it was impossible to get to the airport with Public transportation.
We will definetely appreciate him!

I stayed with Chris for a week. it was a very nice and comfortable flat. so clean and exactly as shown in the photoes. chris is a wonderful person , so helpful and cheerful. the place was max 20 min from Manhattan by bus. I was so lucky I found such a place and such a person and I would strongly recommend it for any one who is traveling to ny
NOVEMBER 2013. chris, his wife, and their newborn baby have a charming home in a 3 story apt/condo building with an intercom ground floor entrance and stairway access to the 3rd floor. all looks EXACTLY as the pictures and neat as a pin! the very spacious yet spartan guest bedroom (adjacent to the master bedroom) appears to have a sofa or cot like bed, based on the mattress comfort/support, a large closet for storing belongings and luggage. the floor plan is open with full access to the common areas--great room (living/kitchen/dining). the shared bathroom is beautiful and immaculate. strong wifi signal when multiple people are accessing internet simultaneously too. i think there is access to a space parking spot onsite. BE SURE TO VISIT JFK BOULEVARD EAST TO OVERLOOK THE CITY! 15-20 minute walk away! (see the photos) and TRY PARK AVE GRILL down the street, incredible food and atmosphere!
union city nj is a common, convenient, and economical alternative to nyc hotel prices and i've stayed there several times. the neighborhood has a significantly predominant latin influence with nearby (few blocks) ethnic shops, eateries and conveniences (post office, banks etc.). 4-5 short blocks walk to the nj transit ($3.25 ea/way) or the "jitney" ($3.00 ea/way) which runs well into the night after nj transit ceases 10-15 minutes through the lincoln tunnel will get you into times square (aka hells kitchen, midtown west, clinton) with no traffic. travel times will vary greatly based on time of day, namely rush hour, and traffic.
i namely dealt with chris on reservations and details and can say without doubt he is a very nice and very understanding host. before i booked, i read through the reviews of his previous listing and they were all stellar!
you can't get closer access to midtown than union city, new jersey. recommended for guests who are spending long days in nyc (which is mostly what people do once they cross the tunnels :-). its a nice spot for baby-friendly singles or couples who aren't noise sensitive (the soundproofing from neighboring apartments is minimal, along with the dog footprints/steps upstairs) and like to share and/or socialize in open floor plan spaces but still have privacy and space of the guest room. for drivers or car renters--parking at night is a great challenge even if you have access to a resident's guest parking pass, but there are a few municipal pay lots within 10 minutes walk or so.
Klein, schoon, goed bed. Goede locatie, nabij metrostation.
Chris and Lauren were very nice host who would communicate with guests and give them tips about the city. When I walked in the apt, it just gave me good vibes. The room is not fancy and luxury, but just as simple and homy as we need !!!
The apartment is good located and very tidy.
I think it has not even 40 square meters without corridor. You get from the kitchen in the bathroom with toilet.
I think because of Lauren's pregnancy her mother was in the house. She was very friendly but the apartment is too small for 5 persons. I couldn't use the kitchen because it was always occupied. But anyway they are friendly people and my daughter and I had a great time in New York.
