I work as an IT Consultant in Edinburgh and in my spare time my husband and I manage a small property portfolio. I have two young children who keep me very busy the rest of the time.
The flat was great. Clean and tidy and in good condition. The location is slightly out of town but perfect was us, just a short walk away from the start of the royal mile. Jacquie was a good host and easy to get in touch with. I would stay here again.
I stayed at Jacquie's place with two other friends of mine. We lived there for 4 months and we had a really nice stay. The flat is really spacious (especially the kitchen and the living room), tidy, well equipped and furnished. Shimon (jacquie 's husband) is really kind, he changed for us the fridge the day after it broke up and he was always available for every kind of problem. The area and the neighborhood are lovely. The house is situated just in front of Holyrood park (Arthurs seat), well connected to the city center and portobello beach thanks to many buses which stop just crossed the street. It takes around 20 min to get to the city center by bus and 25 walking. There is a good shopping center just down the road with a big Salisbury's, Poundland and others. The most convenient way to get there from the airport is taking the bus number 35 that stops 10 mins walking from the house.
Recommended for every type of stay
Apartment was clean, good located and with a nice decoration.
We had a great time there.
Great position with a bus stop at the end of the street which takes you into the town centre in minutes. Having a private car park in the building is a real bonus. Missed not having a shower in the ensuite though as we are not bath people.
This flat was very convenient for the Edinburgh festival - the bus stop into town was a few minutes away. The area was quiet, but with shops a short walk away.
The flat was clean and tidy with well equipped kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the living room spacious with good sized TV.
The hosts were very helpful meeting both couples individually at times to suit ourselves. They gave us a good explanation of how everything worked in the flat.
A few maintenance issues prevented us giving this flat 5 stars - these were mostly small but some more inconvenient e.g. the doors wouldn't close as they had dropped on their hinges.
The flat has creaky wooden floors throughout the living areas making it difficult to be quiet if, say, some people had gone to bed earlier than others.
All in all though reasonable value for money.
The apartment is very comfortable, clean and spacious for a family of four. It's right on London Road with about 15 minute walk to good restaurants in New Town and 25 minute walk to Old Town. There are tons of buses down London Road right to the center of town. A grocery store is only 3 blocks away. Jacquie and her husband were really helpful with information about the city.
Great location and perfect apartment for families with children
Good location. Excellent access to parking, grocery shopping, and the tourist areas. However, our comfort was not what it should have been, especially given the price. It would be much more comfortable with a new or professionally cleaned sofa and chair in the sitting room. Kitchen needed some additional cleaning when we arrived which we did immediately. Bathroom and bedding were clean and comfortable.
Visited the Open and stayed for one week with my buddy. It was a blast
Fantastic place and good for a family :-)!
