I was born and raised in Michigan, and have recently settled down in Seneca Rocks, WV after many years of traveling and living abroad. I have spent several years teaching English in Japan and Thailand, as well as some other places around the world. I love rock climbing, which initially brought me to Seneca Rocks. I bought this property and started building Seneca House in 2010.
I built the house together with 2 friends. We did it entirely ourselves, without contractors, and we all lived on site throughout the entire building process, which took just under 2 years. This was an amazing experience, and I learned so much in the process. The finished product turned out amazing, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
I still travel, though not nearly as much as I used to. I love hiking and hanging out with my dog, Bubba Lou. And these days I seem to spend most of my time working on the landscaping of Seneca House, and trying to keep the goats from constantly escaping!
