Mladen is the very best host we have seen in our four months on the road. He met us at the ferry at 7 am and took us on a very complete driving tour of Dubrovnik that lasted an hour. He had beers, two juices, mineral and natural water in the refrigerator and the kitchen had several coffees to choose from and a wonderful espresso/ cappuccino machine. Market and produce and bakery are all easy 5-10 minute walk. Old city is 20 minute walk or 2 minute walk to the bus that get you to old city in 10 minutes. Malden made a wonderful shrimp dish with chilis and brought to the apt along with fresh bread and wine and more beer for lunch one day. It was a fantastic 2 hr lunch, great company and great food. Mladen took us to the bus station when we departed. I cannot say enough great things about Mladen and the apartment. Apt is very large with terrace, large bedroom and bed and spacious kitchen with everything you need. I highly, highly recommend Mladen's apt.
Mladen was a fantastic host and definitely lived up to the precedent set by the other reviewers! The apartment is great - a good size and in a great spot for exploring the rest of Dubrovnik as well as the old town. Mladen was a fantastic host, picking us up from the airport and taking us back (for a small fee, cheaper than the taxis!). He showed us round the town, had some lovely mussels ready for us and even had an ice cold beer waiting in the fridge for us all! We chose this apartment based on Mladen's great reviews and I would advise you to do the same! Lewis and Isobel
Mladen was very welcoming and he even cooked us some delicious prawns! He shared his local knowledge and gavé us lots of tips!
The apartment is situated 15 min walk from the old old town and about the same from the beach! Good location!
Malden was an incredible host! We traveled around Europe for two months with Air BnB and this is easily one of the best places we have stayed. He met us at the bridge coming into Dubrovnik, gave us an extensive tour of the city in his car, and cooked an awesome pot of shrimp. Plus, he was so easy to contact and was quick to answer any questions we had about the place. The apartment itself was very clean and comfortable. The AC in the bedroom is a huge plus and the house has everything you need (and more) for a nice stay. He really thought of everything you'd need and made our time in Dubrovnik excellent.
Upon our arrival at the bus station, Mladen, the apartment owner, took us on a brief city tour including the main sites, highlighted the location of ferries/boats to other local islands, beaches with approx. walk times from the apartment, bus stops and a few recommendations on places to eat. And when we arrived at the apartment dinner, beer and wine was waiting for us. I can’t think of a better way to start a vacation. The apartment was spacious and clean with lots of storage space and included an enclosed patio which was a perfect place to enjoy dinner or just lounge. Plus the booking process could not have been easier and Mladen was quick to respond to all questions and upon our departure even recommended some beaches to visit since we were making our way thru the islands.
Mladen is extremely generous with his time. He will take you around the area, showing you where stores, beaches, restaurants bus stops and shops are located; he went an extra mile for me , driving me somewhere that he did not have to do. In short, you will be very well taken care of!
Also, the apartment is extremely clean, it is quiet at night, he will show you how to get on the internet with the correct wi fi code and password, and the topper is that he will prepare for you, free of charge a favorite seafood dish here in Dubrovnik- Mussels! The are a is about a 20 minute walk to the Old Town main street, but there are 2 buses running very frequently that stop extremely near his apartment; I chose to walk.
In short, I highly recommend Mladen as host , and his apartment, where you have a fridge, stove, pots and pans to cook with, and also a dining area and sitting area in addition to the bedroom...lots of space for clothes. He is a super host!!
Mladen- Was a gracious host. He met us at the Bridge and showed us how to get to his apartment. He cooked us mussels, bread, and provided a liter of very good local red wine. Upon arriving he sat us down with a nice cold beer and chatted for while then showed us around town so that we know what was what. The apartment was very comfortable, clean, and was in a very quiet location. Additionally, Mladen recommended a very good restaurant within in walking distance named Orsan. Orsan serves mainly fish and has been around since 1952 and is right on the water. It was excellent. If Mladen is representative of all of Croatia then I am very impressed with the hospitality, kindess, and effort that helped make our stay a perfect one. I hope that next time we may visit for longer and take in more of the history, culture, and food of Dubrovnik. Thank you Mladen.
Mladen was a great host, really ready to help and offers sort of "add ons" to the apartment in the form of tours etc. The mussels he cooked the first night were amazing!
Lapad is a nice area away from old town but was a bit of a walk from most things.
We had an amazing time in Dubrovnik! Mladen was a fantastic host and the apartment was perfect and in a great location. We can't thank Mladen enough for all the information he provided about the city, the tour and the mussels. We only wish we could of spent more time in Dubrovnik.
Mladen is a great host and such an advocate of Dubrovnik and the places to see around. He has a long history in this place so took us around describing everything into detail, which made traveling more personal and which revealed the real Dubrovnik. He picked us up from the station and gave us a tour of the city for free, we had a nice surprise in finding mussels cooked for us, bread and wine ready which was great, especially as we had been traveling and didn't have much to eat. He also recommended a traditional place where lamb meals are cooked and from where you can have a great view of the city and the islands. Overall, a superb holiday so would definitely visit again sometime. Rox and Sanjaya
