I chose to Jay's loft instead of the Hyatt where most other conference attendees were staying. This turned out to be a very good decision.
The loft is located on Central Av. (historic Route 66), with plenty of bars and shops in the vicinity. It is also situated near the convention center, which meant that I could receive colleagues for collaborative meetings in between the sessions; it sure beat a boring hotel lobby.
Jay was also very attentive as a host, dropping messages to see whether everything was all right (it was :) and whether I needed anything.
All in all, I know where I'll be staying next time I drop by Albuquerque.
Jay was cool and welcoming when we talked before my arrival - he was patient when I had to call because I couldn't find the entrance. Location was central in the up-and-coming downtown Albuquerque (wow, very cool city). This is not a quiet location, however: clubs are nearby, it's right on the "strip," and one neighbor played boom-boom music until 4 in the morning one weekend night, so bring ear plugs or a fan if you're a light sleeper. The door onto the balcony doesn't lock, so check with Jay before reserving to find out if he's fixed this.
Jay was awesome and so was the loft. It was in a great location and Jay really made it easy for us with his recommendations. I would 100% stay here again!
Unfortunately, this place looked better in the pictures. Very spare accommodations which one could tolerate but the bed was terrible. Besides being lumpy, the fitted sheet and bed covers, pillowcases were old and very worn out, there was not even a top flat sheet. Noisy neighbor with a dog that ran around in the middle of the night. Not even a coffee maker and refrigerator was dirty inside. Said there was wi-fi but there was none.
Jay was super responsive from the first point of contact to the last day of our vacation. He made sure our stay went very smoothly and without incident.
The Loft was spacious and clean and the balcony was perfect for people watching. The location couldn't be more perfect, being centrally located in the bustling Downtown ABQ.
As with any city's downtown, you have your share of shady characters out at night, but we never felt unsafe being in the loft or in the general area. It's just always good to keep a watchful eye out when walking around any downtown at night.
Overall our experience was perfect and we couldn't recommend Jay's loft more.
The place was great, (very comfortable) it was much better than staying at a traditional hotel.
The location was as advertised, in the heart of downtown with all clubs and restaurants steps away.
I would definitely recommend Jays accommodations to anyone who's considering staying downtown Albuquerque.
By far this is one of the best stays that I have ever experienced here in Albuquerque New Mexico
The loft was well appointed, centrally located, and comfortable, and Jay was very accommodating. My only complaint was that it was pretty loud at night over the weekend due to street noise. This might have been due to a special event happening nearby.
Jay's place was perfect. Gorgeous apartment in a secure building with plenty of things in walking distance and those that weren't were all nearby (very centrally located). We were in town during balloon festival and each morning we could sit out on the balcony and watch the balloons. We loved it.
I was hesitant because I read some reviews that called into question the cleanliness of the apartment, but even when we walked in we noticed how clean it was. I would recommend Jay's place to anyone exploring Albuquerque.
Quiet, tidy and respectful.
I Recommend him.
Jay was awesome! He only stayed for a very short time but he was very friendly and courteous!
Great guest and would love to host Jeremiah again. Good communicator and easy-going. I noticed only after his stay that the housekeeping service had forgotten to clean out the fridge from the previous guest (some of the left overs had gotten pretty gross). Unfortunately, those things can happen, but Jeremiah didn't even bring it up (not that I would have minded if he did--I would have taken care of it immediately). But bottom line is that Jeremiah is a cool, laid back guy--the perfect guest. Left the place in great shape and practically so clean you almost couldn't tell someone had stayed in the unit.
Jeremiah was an exceptional guest. He is very friendly and most of all he took great care of his room and respected all house rules. He communicated his whole trip with me and was prompt with his check in & check out time. I would recommend him as a guest and host him again.
