We addicted John's place! He was so generous and accommodating . The house itself is lovely with a super comfortable bed and awesome stove top. Plenty of clean towels and soft linens were a great touch. He left us coffee and wine and was in great communication with us throughout our stay. He is an awesome host and his house is really beautiful! The shower is amazing!! We loved it here !
Though I didn't get to meet John personally, he did have a friend meet up with me to show me the house and both he and John responded quickly to any of my questions. The neighborhood was quiet and the private parking space was very much appreciated. The house was lovely and provided privacy and sunshine throughout my stay. I didn't use the kitchen very much, but all was in working order. The washer and dryer worked well and the shower provided lots of hot water. I would stay again and would recommend to my friends wholeheartedly.
John was extremely helpful and quick to reply (even on his honeymoon!)
Great little place, quiet and private. Would highly recommend.
John's bungalow is a charming and pretty place to stay. We were impressed and grateful to find fresh soap, toilet paper and tea, coffee and other useful things in the kitchen which meant we didn't have to schlep to the shops as soon as we arrived - a real blessing!
John had helpfully left us with lists of restaurants and other amenities which was very useful if you don't know LA
The nearest supermarket was about 5 minutes walk and a short drive for slightly more upmarket groceries.
Our only problem was it got so cold overnight that we needed central heating which of course nobody has there as it's usually not necessary!
All in all a great little place to make your stay in LA more enjoyable and John and his wife Etienne were very friendly and welcoming meeting us at the host when we arrived and showing us around. I hope they had a great honeymoon!
Johns place was the perfect getaway. A secluded oasis that was absolutely amazing! Lots of privacy. The patio is hooked up to the speaker system and it was perfect for entertaining guests. Would definitely stay again.
Exactly as described and great location. John was incredibly helpful, especially with the meet to check in. Really enjoyed our stay and highly recommended.
I wish I could give more than five stars....We had the BEST experience staying at John's place. First - he is awesome! He was welcoming and very flexible for us - we were early and he was still tidying up from the last guest but he was so gracious and let us put our bags in so we could run to the store for groceries. Also, when I had a question about anything (I asked two - flyswatter and broom location) I texted him and he responded in minutes! We were there for my dads memorial service at the American Film Institute. The bungalow is right near Western & Melrose - so we just drove up Western to the AFI. Could not have been more convenient! Also, we were able to have family over after and use the courtyard for a nice family gathering. One of his actor friends played the piano and that was so nice....We were even able to have nice music playing on the outside speakers - and the lighting is just perfect! And we were able to receive guests the next day as well. My mom & I stayed there together and the bed was SO comfortable - I slept so well even during this stressful time. I was able to prep food for the service in the kitchen (which is VERY well stocked and John told us to help ourselves to so many different things!) which has good counter top space, lots of equipment, a good stove and microwave. I cannot say enough about how nice this place is.... The parking is tuff - you get one space right there and that's great, but the street parking can be a little challenging for your guests if you have them. We had our cousins make like valet guys and drop off people and go park and then go pick up. But this place really is BETTER than the pictures show! If you get this bungalow you should consider yourself lucky - I know I did!
John's place is a quiet and beautiful haven that has been perfect to rest while not being far away from The city. John has been a wonderful and accommodating, and responsive to all of my questions. Thank you for being an fantastic host at an amazing home.
John's place was my first stop moving back to LA after a seven year hiatus. He was extremely quick at replying my messages. Showed up promptly to give me the keys. The house is well stocked with towels and condiments. The front yard is great to spend an intimate night at home with some friends. John even left us a bottle of wine to start off our stay.
Overall a great experience!
John was a great host & made it very easy for us to get settled. we brought our 10 month old baby with us & john allowed our friends to drop off items for the baby (pack & play, bouncers) that were instrumental for us to have an enjoyable stay. the architecture of the house allowed lots of privacy even when u stepped outside. & the location is very amenable to visiting hollywood, north hollywood, & los feliz. we had a great time & highly recommend john's place. felt like home.
John is a fantastic guest, he left the place spotless. Thank you!
Perfect guest! Thank you John !!
John was a wonderful guest! We would love to have him come and stay with us again!
John was a very cool, laid back guest. He was in town for the film festival so he was very busy during his stay, but we could tell he was an all around cool guy. He was super clean and beyond courteous -- totally welcome back anytime! Highly recommend.
John and Pj were really nice guests!
They are interesting people and we had nice conversations. They arrived and left according to the reservation and left the place clear. We wish we had guests like them all the time :)
