My perfect day would not include a movie or couch time, not a petting zoo, not Disneyland or the mall. I enjoy being outdoors exploring nature, being active in sports including golf, cycling, hiking, kayaking, running, or fishing. Golf has been my passion, collegiate sport, career and lifestyle since I can remember. Monterey is the perfect home for each of those events and I love sharing this beautiful county with family, friends, and travelers from abroad. I spend my day managing a private golf club in Carmel Valley where the community is based around nature and the history of California. I am privileged to have part of my office outside where I teach members the mechanics and etiquette of the game of golf and help build their skills to make the game more enjoyable. I fill the rest of the day at the gym, keeping my body tuned for an active lifestyle, eating out with friends or socializing at home with some adult beverages. When time permits and relaxation is a must, watching sports, eating good food and wine, and enjoying the sun at the beach recharge me for the next activity I can't wait to indulge in. Live music and concerts on occasion are a good change of pace and are often sought out when I am traveling and in new places that help me understand the culture of my new surroundings. Unfortunately, I find myself often living to work, rather than working to live, but I love my job and still find time to travel and see new interesting places. A three month stay in Western Europe was my most memorable vacation, but frequent trips to Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, San Diego and other golf excursions have allowed me to enjoy life outside of my home where many come from all over the world to see. If I were to sum up my life in a simple sentence, it would be, “Work really hard, and play even harder.”
As a host, I am eager to share my insight and local secrets of Monterey, open my home to you, and learn about your travel experience and home life.
