I wish I had not accepted this reservation!! Maria and her mother were very demanding. I wrote to them before their stay warning them that the jaccuzzi was not working and agreed to give them a 15% discount but in their review they make it appear as if they had not been notified. I offered them the chance to cancel and it would have been better if they had since they ended up giving me a nasty review. Regarding the front door key, they wrote to ask if they could have the key, and I informed them it was against policy (and useless since we chain the doors from inside) but that they could come in and out at any time of the day and night. When they arrived, their relative brow-beated me for 10 minutes to try and force me to hand over the key.... Maria's brother lives nearby and she chose this area to be near him. I'm sure he would have let her know if it wasn't recommendable!! We have 4 schools within one block of us, and also the UBA university one block behind. I would like to point out that these were manufactured comments added later, as a tit-for-tat response when i replied to her initial review. As was the comment about the noise, considering we have huge wooden blinds about 4 metres tall that cover the windows, as well as two sets of curtains.
Maria also emailed me asking if we provided sheets and soap, I confirmed that we did and that all the accessories in the photos were available. She never asked about a hairdryer. She did however, take anything that wasn't pinned down, including the bubble bath that we normally refill and the soaps.
The coup de grace was when her mother handed me a bag to give to their relative when they departed. He never showed up. Two days later, we lookd in the bag and, lo and behold, it contained the breakfast we had served on the last morning! Pastries, fruit and yogurt. It seemed they had been pilfering every day and giving the food to him. I wasn't going to leave a bad review for these people but I have the right to answer the negative reivew they left me. Especially since I let them arrive in the middle of the night, stay an extra half day and served breakfast to their relative for free...what a shame that there are some guests like this, who don't appreciate all the big and little things hosts do for them.
