I am very fortunate to call Costa Rica home and live in Paradise.

A very nice home in a very nice area. Our main concern was getting to the property. The directions where " go on this road for about 20 min and take a right at the blue sign, etc." This did not sound to good to us, but as soon as we got in the rental car it all made sense. There are not many signs labeling the streets (ie Main Street, I-25 North, Hwy 50 East) but there are lots of big signs with arrows to direct you to the different towns. We drove ourselves everywhere and never got lost. The home is awesome, the pool lights up in different colors and the golf course is in the back yard. Comfortable beds and a big kitchen. The owners literally live next door and are extremely helpful in every way. Maureen took us in her own car for a tour of the resort and then to Tamarindo to hit the grocery store. We had some issues with the plumbing and wifi but they had people there quickly to try and fix the issues. It seems to be in a pretty central location, 5-10 minute drive to a few relatively private beaches, and about 20 min to Tamarindo, which is a much bigger more popular surfing beach. I would definitely recommend renting a car, there are taxis but having our own car was worth the money. A hint we could have used, call your car insurance and credit card companies to see if they cover your rental car in Costa Rica. If they do, have them email you something saying so and take it with you. We had to do all this at the rental car place and it took about an hour longer than expected. I would stay here again and recommend it to a friend. If you've never been, Costa Rica is a beautiful place, probably my new favorite place. The beaches are amazing and the whole country is amazingly clean. I can literally count on one hand the pieces of trash I saw on the beaches!!, and we spent a lot of time on several different beaches. Get off the resort and explore, the locals are very friendly and helpful, if you look lost or confused they do not hesitate to try and help. Unlike other countries I've been to it did not seem like people where only after your money. These are genuine people. You Must Eat at the mar y sol at sunset!!!! this is a must do!! Also Carlos and Carlos is a very good Italian joint. I would not do the golden shrimp (Cameron dorado), it was expensive and no one in our party was happy at all. Also hit up some of the local street side eateries, good traditional food at a very cheap price. Maureen can hook you up with Dervin, he was an excellent tour guide who speaks great English, use him for the river tour!!! Pura Vida!!
