Our stay at Patrice's apartment was great. Patrice himself was on a trip but his friends were there to welcome us. Thanks a lot for your kindness and flexibility!
The room fits two just fine, it is clean (just like the rest of the flat) and we could also use the kitchen and the fridge.
The location is fabulous. It's literally a 5min walk to the Essex St. metro station which is very practical to get around the city by subway. The neighborhood itself is great with lots of bars, cafés and bakeries around.
We strongly recommend Patrice's apartment!
We were 2 friends stayed in Patrice's house during Christmas holidays. His friend Djaka was an excellent host, friendly and fun. His house was so warm, clean and cosy and has good subway/bus access the city. I think the best place to take a drink or dinner (++).
Djaka gave us a thousand good deals in New York.
It was one of my best holidays. Thank you Djaka and Patrice !
We had a fantastic stay in Patrice's apartment. The room is very big, ideal to be very comfortable for two people. Very nice living room as well, perfect for hanging out a bit when at home. The area is great, loads of cafes and restaurant in the whereabouts, Soho, Little Italy and Nolita reachable with a 10 minutes walk. I cannot think of a better value accommodation in NYC, and would definitely consider staying at Patrice's again next time I visit NY. Unfortunately we did not meet the host as he was out of town, but his flat mate was very kind and helpful. I recommend it strongly.
My experience staying at Patrice's apartment was basically mediocre. My husband and I were very grateful to Patrice for booking us into room at such a short notice. We needed a room for the night around 11pm and he was happy to oblige. Upon arriving at the apartment Patrice's roommate greeted us at the door. She was a bit antisocial and failed to even direct is to where the bathroom was. She really didn't say anything to us. All she did was show us the room and handed us the keys. The next day I received a text message from Patrice, he seemed a bit upset because it was two of us staying in the room instead of one. The title associated wit this room says it is for two people. Yes, it was also my fault for not specifying it was two of us but I guess it was just a misunderstand based on the title. He demanded I pay him 30.00 per night extra for my husband staying there. At this time my husband had just left the house, therefore I told Patrice I would make sure to have the money for him as soon as my husband arrived. I also offered to pay it via Airbnb, but he insisted on it beind cash. Shortly after getting off the phone with him, I logged onto Airbnb and noticed he had a notice on the end of his listing saying that there was a CHARGE of 15.00 per extra guest, not the 30 he had told me. I immediately sent him a text bringing this to his attention, he then agreed to honor what was mentioned of the page. I found it slightly disrespectful that he attempted to get more money than was stated on his page from me. Especially when my husband and I only stayed with him for two nights. We were also basically just in the room to sleep. He then arrived at the apartment (apparently he doesn't live there) and waited for the money. Once I handed him the money, he requested that my husband and I check out the following day at 11am. Again, the website states check out is at 12pm, it's only an hour difference but I felt like we were getting kicked out! The day of check out came, and he arrived at the apartment around 11am, and waited in the living room for us to leave. All in all my experience staying here was less than satisfactory. On the good side, the bed is quite comfortable, and the apartment is situated in a great part of the city. Super close to union square.
Patrice was very easy to communicate with and our room and bathroom were very tidy. The mattress wasn't the best for my back, but as soon as I let Patrice know he offered up two possible solutions - I was impressed that he immediately addressed the issue. The apartment is in a TERRIFIC location, safe (with a doorman), very clean, and close to the subway. We were really pleased with our stay!
Patrice was the perfect host. The apartment was very clean and the room was large with a very comfortable bed. The location is close to the subways and the area boats some to the city best eateries. I highly recommend Patrice Bihina-Parade's apartment.
My best friend and I stayed in Patrice's apartment for a week in October and we had an amazing time! The location was incredible and we were so happy with the accomodation. The Lower East Side is up & coming and so central to everything. The best restaurants, shops, boutiques, bars were all SO close. No matter where we ventured throughout the day, we would always want to come back to Rivington area and just wander around into the local bars and restos at the end of the day. The apartment was everything Patrice promised and very tidy and clean. The subway station was a block away and the neighbourhood was safe. The building also had a communal paid laundry room which was convenient, especially for longer stays. Patrice is very friendly and hospitable and we were very fortunate to have him host our stay! We definitely recommend this apartment and would love to stay here again when we come back!
