I had a very mixed stay at this apartment. Sally had broken her back and Ssameer was travelling which meant no one was at the apartment when I arrived at 1am and I had to spend the night at a local motel. The next day I had to go to Sally's hospital on the first day of my trip in order to collect keys for the apartment to get in. When we were able to access the apartment, it was extremely dirty with very dirty floors and dirty dishes in the sink. There was also a dog which no one had warned us about.
After we managed to clean the apartment, it was a much more habitable environment but a disappointing way to be greeted. Again these factors were no fault of Sally or Ssameer. Its major advantages are it's very close to the subway and the 1 train is extremely convenient for travelling into Manhattan.
After communication with Ssameer, he was prepared to offer me a $60 refund which was disappointing considering the hassle I went through with the apartment but at this point I'd like this to just be resolved.
Pros: Ssameer and Sally are quick to communicate
Location- less than a block from the 1 and in a safe neighborhood. Many supermarkets and cafes nearby
Cons: the place was dirty and messy but all you really need is a place to sleep and a restroom
Overall great stay at this place, I would definitely recommend. Remember you get what you pay for, this is inexpensive homestay and not a hotel so don't have high expectations.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Very pleasant stay. Ssameer is very flexible when I showed up later due to delays. Subway is only 1 block away, very convenient to get to anywhere in NYC. I would recommend and come back again when Im in NYC again.
The hostess, "Sally" was very gracious. I was a little uncomfortable with no curtain on the bedroom window, and none on the window in the shower.
One of the best accommodation in NYC. I like to come back hire. Sally was very hospitable and conversable.
I found my stay very enjoyable to say the very least and
most importantly, I learned so much.
My son and I enjoyed a hassle free stay at Ssameers place. It was as described, and may not suit everyone, but was just fine for us. Sally was an awesome host, who made us feel at home right away. She is very easy going, and only only expects common sense and decency in return. Very much like visiting a favourite aunt. We were lucky with parking, finding a place right out front, used the subways otherwise. Only had to move the car on weekday mornings for an hour or so. Lots to do and see in the area while doing so .Affordable, friendly, safe and easy to get to where you want to go while in NY, this is a place worth checking out.
I am very happy with the coice of ssamers appartment. The communication between ssamaer and me was great. I got the answers of my question very fast and helped as best as he could. Sally who lived there was very nice and polite. Her recommendations were good and i liked it to talk with her. Finally is this place very good for this price. Everything is exactly same how you see it on the pictures.
Ssameer wasn't there, but Sally was and she knows EVERYTHING! Neighbor hood was safe and very convenient to the train and bus. Go eat at Flor de Broadway, it's right down the road. Food is great and cheap!!
Yes. he's courteous, clean and conscientious. he's also hilarious and fun to pal-around with.
