I am a school teacher taking a sabbatical to get my ph.d. One of my great passions is traveling, so when I get the opportunity to explore the world, I rent out my apartment to make ends meet.

We've spent two fabulous weeks in Holly apartment at Upper East Side. Holly was very friendly responding to our emails and answered all our questions. She gave us all instructions, so check-in was easy and smooth. We didn't meet Holly in person, there was a guy called Greg who checked us in and out. He was also very friendly and helpful.
The apartment was clean, perfect for one or two people, its small but very cosy and full of sunlight during the day. The small kitchen area have all the nessesary things like microwave, gas stove, toaster, fridge etc., so you can cook everything you want by yourself.
Be aware - there is no elevator in the house, only the stairs. But it didn't matter for us. The house itself is very beautiful with inner yard.
Huge thank you to Greg and Holly - recommended!
Holly's place is great. Clean, bright, with everything you might need. It is small of course, but perfect for two, and in a very peaceful area. I only wish we had been there in the summer and able to enjoy the great little balcony. Holly was very responsive and we would definitely look to book here again.
The reviews pretty much say it all. I gave it 5 stars because it matched Holly's description and what I read from most of the reviewers. There were no unhappy surprises, and the entire experience was positive: Holly responded to several emails before my husband arrived in a prompt and friendly way. When I stayed behind for a few days because I was sick, my husband met Holly at the appointed time of our choice and got the lay of the land. I joined him a few days later in this very cute, clean, well- decorated small studio apartment on a nice and quiet street on the Upper East Side. Holly color codes her very interesting bookshelf!
As it was winter, we didn't get to use the sweet little balcony; however, the window in front of it provided a lovely place to sit and watch the East River and tugboats and barges, as well as the toddlers and their parents in the park across the street.
There was no street noise or noise from apartments above or adjacent. Lovely. The inside temperature was warm even for the frigid weather we experienced, but as Holly says in her notes, it's easy enough to open a window a crack if you are someone who likes things a little cool at night.
The kitchen was well set up - more than many NY apartments with a full sized sink, good stove, but a half refrigerator. Most folks probably won't want to cook much, but not only could we make coffee easily with the coffee maker provided, but also we could cook sou[s for our daughter who just had a baby - there are decent knives, pans, etc.
People have commented on the size. Yes, it it pretty small and there's not much space in the bathroom - but it is a nice clean bathroom with a good shower. In the main space there is a sweet table and banquet for reading or eating as well as writing.
I won't comment on where things are in the area - yes, it's a small hike to the subway, but my daughter lives in the area and thinks nothing of the walk to the subway. New Yorkers walk. So, you will walk some, but there are also buses galore and cabs, which are a lot cheaper than where I live. Thanks Holly and Greg - hope to stay with you again.
Holly was extremely friendly and responded promptly to all of my questions and concerns. The studio is located on a quiet street with a view of the East River, but it faces a park so I would imagine on nice days you might get some noise from barking dogs and screaming kids, but I did not hear too much of that since I was there in the midst of cold temps and snow. It's NYC though, so some noise is to be expected almost anywhere. The location is far from the subway by Manhattan standards, it took about 15 minutes walking, but it was nice strolling along the streets to get there.
The studio itself was clean and well decorated, although somewhat small. I live in a small 1 bedroom in Los Angeles, so I like to think that I can manage living in close quarters, but I felt like I had to consistently watch where I was walking in the place in order to prevent myself bumping into something. The bathroom is tiny and there is only a small shelf to place toiletries on directly above the sink. The hand soap can only fit in between the sink and the shelf and in the process of getting soap I bumped the shelf one or two times, sending my toiletries flying to the ground. The doorknobs to the front door and bathroom were loose, with the front doorknob actually falling out on the first day I got there. I was able to twist it back on and carefully use it for the remainder of my stay, but this was a bit of an inconvenience.
For a short term stay of 2 1/2 days this place was perfectly fine, but if I had stayed much longer I honestly might have been a bit frustrated with all the little quirks of the place. Maybe all Manhattan apartments in this price range are like that and I am just being picky, but if you are just looking for a place to stay in the city for a few days this place gets the job done.
I would give the place 3 stars, but Holly's prompt responses and friendly demeanor bumps my overall rating up to a 4.
Holly's appartment is in a really lovely area overlooking the East River. We walked into midtown/central park very easily every day. There are lots of amenities nearby and the block felt very safe even when we were out and about after dark. The appartment itself is small but very cosy. Best of all was Holly who despite being on her travels whilst we were staying there, was incredibly reliable and did what she could to make our stay comfortable. Definitely recommended! Our stay was great. The manhattan studio was just big enough for my boyfriend and I and close enough to the city for us to get around. Wish we could have stayed longer. I would stay at Holly's again next time we are in town.
The Fantastic Manhattan studio is really FANTASTIC !
Easy commute all around Manhattan!
Clean and serene neighborhood.
Charming decoration, that made you feel like at home of a friend that you really love.

I know it sounds to good to be true but it is!

Our stay was perfect. Holy's place is exactly as the pictures. Great location (near the 6 subway line) and perfect for two people. Besides that, Greg and Holy are very helpful and kind.
Totally recommend Holy's place.
Holly's place is amazing - small but beautifully decorated and very open with lots of sunlight! Working with her and her partner was easy and they made sure I had everything they need. I'll definitely try to stay there again the next time I'm back in NYC!
Holly's place was fantastic. Clean and cosy with great amenities and Holly is a wonderful host. I was given hints and tips for restaurants, supermarkets and so much more in the local area which was so helpful. The wi-fi was a little sketchy but you just have to hold your iPad the right way.
I would definitely recommend staying at Holly's place, it was wonderful.
Holly was a very nice guest. She seemed to enjoy the surfing here in Montauk and glad for the great fall weather. She left the room in good condition and I hope to see them again next season.
Although I did not personally get to meet Holly, I can tell you she was a wonderful guest. She is easy going, appreciative, and respectful. All of our correspondence was prompt and clear. Not much else I would ask for in a guest! Thank you so much Holly!
Big thanks to Holly, she is not only perfect guest but excellent yoga trainer! We was really happy to accommodate Holly and can recommend her as a guest and I think as a perfect host too!
I didn't get to meet Holly, but got rave reviews about her and her boyfriend. I hope they come back!!!!
