We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and well appointed. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The village down the street was a quick walk where we could pick up supplies and a good meal.
Very attractive and well equipped house in a beautiful location. With oysters farms and dairies right on the doorstep, the opportunity to eat well is unparalleled. The house itself is warm and cosy, with comfortable beds and a good modern kitchen. Outside there is ample parking at the front and a great deck and garden at the rear.
Flexible in letting me lock my mountain bike to the upper balcony. Showed me to my room, etc. Very nice!
A lovely house with beautiful gardens, a sunny deck and wonderful rural views. We rented the house for a week between Christmas and New Years for two couples and it was as cozy and comfortable as could be. The kitchen was ideal for all the holiday cooking. Big luxurious bathrooms with soaking tub, steam bath and jacuzzi were very welcome to warm up after being outside in the winter weather. We loved our stay and would recommend this house to anyone.
This is our 2nd stay at the Lavender House, and we are already thinking about the next time we can go. My toddler loved to look out the 2nd floor window and gaze at the cows. Thank you for being a wonderful host!
Thanks Annie and have a wonderful Xmas and new year
Look forward to seeing you in 2015
We had a wonderful time at Lavender House, hosted by Penny. a combination Thanksgiving, and 90th birthday party for my dad, the place was a real hit. The does have a gourmet kitchen, and was will up to a thanksgiving meal. However, if you come to cook, which I recommend, bring all your food stocks. The kitchen has the equipment, but few provisions, and the local general store is also very sparse.
The views from the house are spectacular! A lush, green valley (after the recent rains) with bucolic dairy cattle and deer running around.
Penny was a great host and the house was well prepared. We had a great time, and we will be back.
We had a wonderful time at Penny's place. The house and grounds were lovely along with a fantastic location! It is very private and overlooking the bucolic rolling hills of Tomales, yet a short walk from town. The garden and outdoor area was a real treat, and I enjoyed sitting out on the sunny deck. Penny was a very attentive and thoughtful host - even leaving us a gift card for the bakery in town, which became my morning stop.
Thank you Penny - we would definitely consider returning!
We drove in at night in the fog and didn't get a chance to admire the garden until the next morning. When we woke up we opened the windows and BAM! were hit with the most beautiful view. The house was lovely, but the garden was the real show stopper. I'd highly recommend a stay at Penny's.
thanks for the info about the sliding door will check that today!
glad you enjoyed your stay
Penny was wonderful. She was prompt in answering any of our inquiries, giving us details about the place and what to expect. The house was very clean and comfortable. We stayed for 2 nights with a couple of friends, and they were as impressed as us when they saw the house. The neighborhood is very quiet with farms surrounding the home. It was a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the city. I highly recommend this place!
Penny was great. She was prompt and clear and even helped us change our dates when something came up. The house (and property) itself was beautiful; would definitely go back!
