This was our favourite place on the island that we stayed! I was a bit worried because of some of the reviews but I say don't let them scare you off! The place is great. The house is exactly what you'd expect next to the ocean. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of plates, cups and cooking tools. It is truly wonderful to stay somewhere in Hawaii that you can go for a swim with no one else on the beach and then walk 10 steps into your living room.
The people are friendly and welcoming. We would stay here again.
My boyfriend and I loved staying at the apartment in Waialua! Great atmosphere, all we needed and nothing more. Check-in and -out was very easy. Don't expect luxury but the location more than makes up for it. Thanks for a wonderful, authentic experience!
The situation of the small apartment is directly by the sea and leaves nothing to be desired. Having breakfast outside on the terrace is a beautiful event. The folk living on site are really outgoing and relaxed.
The interior of the place is quite more than simple: in other words not much equipment (2 cups, 2 plates and 2 glasses etc.) which itself made a used and outdated impression; unfortunately moldy spots in the bathroom.
I was SO looking forward to staying here, and we did enjoy our stay here because the location is simply awesome but the apartment itself was pretty disappointing.
We were travelling with a baby (who is crawling), so we may have a more critical view, but the apartment was very dirty - sand in the carpet, dust balls on the floor, toe nail clippings on the window sills, hole in the front door, etc and was very poorly equipped - no mugs, one bowl, four paper plates, no bathmat, no cleaning supplies, etc.
I was really looking forward to the bed (because of the reviews) but the sheets were so old and scratchy, I had to sleep on top of them with a hoodie over me. We got new sheets supplied eventually that were much better.
It is very very basic (some of the windows don't even have glass, just screens), but it is livable. Just don't plan on eating or cooking here. I would say at $175/night it is very expensive for what it is.
As a side note, we had lots of rain before we arrived so the river next to the house starting flowing, filling the bay with brown water so we couldn't swim in it for a couple of days.
Great place right by a fantastic and quiet beach! Little bit over priced for quality of accommodation.
what you pay for is the view and its amazing. The place is like an old beach apartment that is outdated though. All the neighbors are very friendly and welcoming. Overall I enjoyed my stay.
The Hawaiian Sanctuary is a lovely beach front place on the north shore and we loved the proximity to the beach and Pacific. The place was very clean, but because it was ground floor had a bit of a humid smell to it.
The downside for me was when we emailed, called and texted our hosts to confirm prior to our arrival we got no response after multiple attempts over several days. When we arrived, it was a bit difficult to find the right place and we accidentally opened someone else's door.
The kitchen and cooking facility was good and we were able to cook all of the meals we wanted to cook and we appreciated that very much. It was awesome to then eat on the picnic table at the beach.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this as a good beach choice on the north shore.
This place is magical. The accommodation is right on the beach (which is beautifully calm all year 'round) and we were lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean every night. The house is simply furnished but has everything we needed, and the bed is super comfy! We definitely recommend this house and will be back.
What a beautiful and chill spot. Mike the property manager could not have been more pleasant or helpful. The beach is very private, just a few people beside myself all week. Bliss. I hope to go back one day very soon! Aloha!
You couldn't want a nicer place to stay in Hawaii. Right on the beach on the North Shore, the views were fantastic. The place is basic but it ticks all the boxes, bed was comfy, shower was nice, hammock, table and chairs by the water from which you can see the beautiful sunsets and the local turtles cruising by. I loved my time there and would recommend anyone going here if you want to unwind and relax.
very good tenant, very clean boat. I recommend
