Norma's communication was spot on from the very beginning. She's very responsive and extremely accommodating. The house, although a bit off the beaten path, is like a paradise....your own private resort. Norma is detail oriented and it shows. She has an incredible trustworthy staff that make sure all your needs are met. Argeli is fantastic and so helpful. She arranged a tour of Marietas Island for us with her friend, Oscar, which was so much nicer (and less expensive) than the tours with the big outfitters. We had Claudia cook for us a few times (highly recommend that for the first night). Her food is great, and her company, just as good. Domenio, the groundskeeper is also amazing. About half of our party spoke some degree of Spanish, which definitely enhanced our stay. We had family portraits done on the grounds, and although we haven't seen the finished shots, the house setting was stunning. All in all, an amazing experience. Thank you Norma. Please send our best to Argeli, Claudia, and Domenio.
I will Dara ! They say Hi to all of you as well !
thank You so much !
We felt most welcomed by Norma and her amazing staff. Right from the start, Norma assured that we would be met and taken to the property and shown around so, even though it was a bit off the beaten path (which we loved!), we felt comfortable. Norma was always available by email or phone. (When we arrived, she called us immediately to make sure all was well and to answer any questions.) The guest book instructions were also very informative and helpful.
We also appreciated that the staff was so flexible about our comings and goings. Claudia, the cook, was so accommodating. Though she was available for three meals a day, we used her only at night --and not every night-- and that was just fine with her. Her meals were wonderful--delicious and she was flexible about the time we wished to eat, preparing the food ahead so we could dine later even. Her husband, Jose, took us on a wonderful hike, which was a highlight of our trip.
The setting lives up to its name--truly "spectacular beach front home." It was wonderful choosing different locations on the property to have our evening Margaritas and watch the sunset. The pool was the ideal temperature (as was the ocean water) and we loved just sitting in the chairs in the water in the pool on the shallow ledge and reading and watching the birds (and dolphins!).
We read in prior reviews that one could be content just to stay on the property the whole while, and that was indeed true. Though we did venture out most days--to the Sunday fish and artisan market one day and another to Sayulita (and of course the hike), we were just happy to be in the beautiful setting and stay put. (And loved the massage we got! Wonderful by the ocean sounds.)
Though there were only four of us (my husband and two adult children), the house accommodates many more and there would be complete privacy for even three or four couples to share the place with children--private baths for all in four different corners of the house. We much preferred staying here feeling at home rather than a hotel.
Just wish were could have met Norma in person! She became a friend just over the phone and by email. We felt that she was right there at our beck and call. All in all a memorable getaway!
Norma and her staff are amazing, they made us feel welcome and the house is beautiful
We had a wonderful week at this beautiful house. We were 2 families and we brought our babysitter as well (5 adults, 5 kids). The layout of the house worked perfectly for us. 3 master bedrooms with king beds for the adults, 1 bedroom with 2 twin beds, 1 bedroom with bunk beds (full size on bottom, twin on top). All bedrooms have their own bathroom. We set up our crib for our baby in the huge master bathroom on the main level and it worked perfectly for her.
There are so many great spots to relax and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. Claudia (the cook) was amazing and I would highly recommend hiring her during your stay. It made it a real vacation to not have to plan, shop, cook, or clean up after meals. We cleaned up after dinner because we always ate late after she left, but she just left the food all ready for us and it was very easy to rewarm anything that needed to be and eat when we were ready. She also made adult and kid versions of most meals, which our kids appreciated.
Our babysitter is from Mexico and it was really nice to have her to translate, although we would have gotten by with the little Spanish we speak. If you don't know any Spanish, I'm sure you could communicate requests easily through Norma.
Norma provided us with all of the information we needed before our arrival. She even has someone meet you at the town entrance and guide you to the house. It is definitely remote, which we loved, but easy to drive to Sayulita or Punta Mita if you want to see the crowds or go to a restaurant. We rented 2 cars (VW Jettas) and they worked great. You just need to drive slowly the last 200 yards before the house as it is very bumpy, but a 4 wheel drive car is not required at all and much less expensive to get regular cars.
Claudia's husband, Jose, took us on a wonderful hike up Monkey Mountain one morning that we all loved. Steep, but not too long and an amazing view of the entire bay when you get to the top. About 2 hours round trip. He charged us $45 for the hike (for 8 people) and we saw one other group along the way and I looked up their guide service and they paid $45 per person! Plus, he's such a nice man and we enjoyed being with him.
The beach right in front of the house is beautiful for collecting shells and watching the sunset, but not for swimming. The Litibu beach is very close and great for swimming and not crowded at all.
Come here, you won't regret it. Unless you are looking for a crowded beach and active nightlife....
Thank You Brooke !! Nice tips for future guests!
Norma was amazing, always making sure our stay was pleasant. Norma has the best set up, Claudia her cook is fabulous, attentive of guest needs, pampering everyone with delicious foods. Argeli keeps the house very clean and knows all the spots and can get anything you need, our private boat ride to Las Marietas was excellent, renting ATV's to go on the rivers... The massages by the beach in the house were priceless.
The house is its own beautiful paradise, we loved the set up and the views. Clean and well decorated with the most inviting layout to enjoy the natural surroundings. We made a fire at night and the kids loved it, while watching the sunset.
The snorkeling off the beach by the house was really good. Everything really, was as perfect as it can be.
Many things to do in Sayulita and Punta de Mita. We are planning on returnning to Norma's house. We have two kids 5 and 6 years old and they absolutly loved this vacation!
Thank You Alma !!
You are always welcome !!
I can't say enough about the wonderful vacation we had staying at this house! Norma was an amazing host and extremely helpful with anything and everything we needed. Claudia's cooking was incredible and Demonio and Argely always made sure we were comfortable. The location was off the beaten track but was exactly what we were looking for. Having a 4WD was great and made getting around easy. I would recommend the trip to the Marietas Islands and a drive up to Sayulita if you want to venture out. Or, just stay at the house! The beach that you can walk to down the road is gorgeous and the views from the rooftop and the sunsets from the deck overlooking the infinity pool are unbeatable. All in all, it was the trip of a lifetime. Thank you Norma!
Merci Norma.
Our experience was perfect! Norma (our host) was amazing, always nice, and perfectly clear since the beginning. She gave us all the information we needed, starting from the house description (and rules), access (routes) and staff information. Regarding Norma I could not think of anything she could improve, as she was perfect with everything!
Claudia (cook) was excellent! She made sure everything was ready upon our arrival, and her cooking was delicious! It's always nice to have something good to eat, but Claudia took it to the next level!
The cleaning staff (managed by Argelli) was also perfect! Everyday we had a clean house and they worked around our schedule (which was basically a surprise every day on our end, due to the wedding we had next door, at Imanta, and the previous days of our stay, in which we decided what we wanted to do each morning).
Demonio (the keeper) was extremely polite, nice and well-intentioned. He offered to help us with coconuts and fresh fish for our delights, and it was all extraordinary.
In summary, our stay was second to none, it was perfect! We are already planning to rent the house again (as soon as we can, in a couple of months). I recommend this house to anyone that wants a private house for a great vacation!
Gracias Rodrigo de parte mia y de todos en casa !!
Wow, what a great way to travel! This house absolutely lived up to it's description and was truly spectacular. What made the whole experience memorable was the great service of the staff and Norma. Claudia was an amazing cook and there is nothing like having fresh, homemade Mexican food available each day. Demonio and Argeli were also wonderful.
We didn't get a 4WD car rental, but it probably would have given us some peace of mind and reduced the fear of getting a flat tire on the bumpy roads to the house. We also felt very thankful that one of our group members was fluent in Spanish as it made communicating with the staff much more smooth.
Staying at this beach front house has all of the scenery and service of a five star resort but a much more personal feel. We hope to make it back one day!
Our party of ten arrived To a welcoming staff at Normas. Claudia had prepared our meal for the evening, which was wonderful! We can't say enough about Claudia and her wonderful meals she made for us. We arranged to have her cook breakfast and dinner almost every day. With fresh sqeezed orange juice and cut fruit, along with the other authentic mexican dishes. Everyone raved about her home made salsas and everything she cooked. The house is as beautiful as the photos. Argeli the housekeeper took good care of us. Demonio cute up fresh coconut and prepared wood for our fire pit. Norma gave us very good information prior to our arrival. On the last evening of our stay Argeli & Claudias' daughter were decorating the whole place with balloons and decorations for a birthday celebration of one of our friends. They surprised us with all the decor. So very thoughtful and generous of them to do this. Lucky we had one of our group who could speak spanish. It might have been challenging for communicating with the staff if we hadn't had our own interpreter. The road is bumpy, but we did fine with our smaller rental car. We had the most peaceful, wonderful trip! Thank You Norma
