What a wonderful airbnb stay. For starters Eric is a wonderful host who was always available to help with whatever was needed. I'm glad we got to talk and hangout briefly as he is incredibly friendly accommodating and has a wealth of knowledge about the history of this area. I regret we did not get to see more of eachother. Secondly his apartment was so comfortable, the real feel of Harlem. Eclectically and tasteful decorated with antiques, modern, artwork and great ambient lighting everywhere, and much more spacious than the pictures permit. I would highly reccomend this unique apartment in my favorite part of Harlem. Thanks so much Eric.
I would recommend Eric to any traveller to New York, he is a warm and entertaining host with a vast and detailed knowledge of New York's history and growth and in particular the Harlem district of which he is the published author of a couple of (website hidden) addition his apartment is located only a short walk from the subway giving you easy access to downtown.
It was was my first time using Airbnb and everything went much better, than I expected. Eric was very welcoming and told me lots of stories about the city. The location is great, 5 minute walk to the subway, so you can be in Manhattan downtown in about 20 minutes. Do not hesitate, forget about the hotels, use airbnb and travel more!
Staying with Eric was everything I wanted and more! I read that he was a tour guide in Harlem, and also a writer - and also his place was very afforably priced - so I made it happen! Was so glad I did. Eric is the kindest most welcoming host. When I arrived (in the heat of summer!) he poured me a glass of chilled (home made!) iced sweet tea and we chatted away in his very new york apartment. Then he took me for a tour of his neighbourhood and showed me all the places I needed to know. This was super helpful in making me feel at ease in my new environment (which is so culturally diverse and full of exciting scenes). Eric's room is actually a big ol study with beautiful books and a view out onto his street. When I was there a block party happened, so much fun. It's only a single bed so only one person can stay - but in Eric you have a friend in the city - expect a lot of interesting chats about history, art and literature. Or you can just keep to yourself - he's extremley well attuned to his guests. Book in and enjoy!
Eric was a great host. Very kind, welcoming and easy going.Thorough my stay Eric was very helpful in answering any question about the city and places and he would do all his effort to get me an answer. Not to forget to mention his hospitality which is beyond expectation. His room was very good with all the thing you need, bed, office, descent closet, Air conditioning, Wifi internet and a lot side lambs. The apartment is spacious and very quite.
It was really a great pleasure to spend those 3 days with Eric and I have no hesitation to recommend him for anybody.
Eric was a great host! I really enjoyed staying with him. The room is exactly as pictured - the pictures you see are of just the bedroom. The rest of the apartment is just as lovely. As an author and tour guide, Eric is obviously very invested in his neighborhood. During my stay, he took me on a tour of some of the local historical and cultural sites, and I learned a lot about Harlem. Eric is also an erudite and charming person. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you get the chance.
Eric was the absolute perfect host. His house was cosy, clean and characterful, and he made me feel completely at home. The area is beautiful, safe and very convenient for visiting other places in Manhattan, and Eric even gave me a tour to some of the lesser-known New York sights and hotspots, which was fantastic.
I've visited New York three times, and this stay was by far the best - all thanks to Eric and his fantastic hosting. I felt like I was staying with an old friend. Seven stars!
The house is very beautiful, cozy and clean, the room is realy nice and there are many interesting books about New York and Harlem. I immediatly felt at home!
The neighborhood is very nice and safe and the subway is 1 minute walking from the house.
Eric is a wonderful and very kind person. We had many interesting conversations and it was like if we had known each other for ages! He knows a lot about New York and Harlem and he is happy to share his knowledge with other people. I definetely recommend this place!
