I don’t like engaging in arguments online but I think our mutual frustrations can be attributed to us both having very different expectations of each other and the place. All in all I hope that my negative review of Marina's place isn't seen as a negative review of her as I felt she was quite friendly the one time I had spoken to her over the phone. We just felt cheated by the photos on her listing thats all.
I hope the other reviews of me give AirBnB hosts and guests a better idea of who I am, guy who is always ready to make my guests feel at home at THE ROOM in Amsterdam and in general a understanding and easy going guy!
For full disclosure some explanations regarding her review of me:
We arrived and were placed in a different room then promised on the booking, after which we requested a better rate for the days that we would have to spend in this room as it was not the same as on the pictures.
On Friday (2nights later) Marina asked if we wanted to move rooms but we did not feel inclined to move as she said they were all the same and we had already spent two nights in that room, instead we asked if we could keep the rate which we got the first two nights. This wasn't possible, so we just kindly asked Marina if she could ask her manager for us, as she said she was not authorised to make such decisions. In my view we didn't push it but perhaps it seemed to her that we were only after getting a better rate, I'm sorry if we made you feel this way.
I'm not too sure what Marina means by our negative attitude from the beginning but I guess it had to to with that we did not go to the Saturday night party until the end of the night because we had already made plans for that evening.
Regarding the AC and doors and windows this was the only way we could keep the sewage smell out of the room. We cleaned the dishes and thought because we had paid a cleaning fee we did not have to clean the beds too.
