Dries was very nice, and the flat was conveniently located and pretty, but the heat didn't work and seeing as how it was wintertime and the windows weren't insulated that well, it didn't make for a very nice stay. When we called him, he said that he had tried the heaters earlier and knew they didn't work, but he never let us know before we made the trip so we weren't prepared at all for a cold apartment. He didn't offer to call a super or have anyone come fix it, but said we should buy a space heater and he would reimburse us. I'm not blaming him for the circumstance, but I feel he could have dealt with it better, for what we payed. Like I said, he was very friendly and apologetic, but it was still extremely cold in the flat.
Loved this place! Very easy to get to anywhere you need from here, yet far enough away that there is no loud noise outside at night. Close to public transit & a long line of Taxis!! The apartment was perfect & Dries was very helpful with the check in & out. Definitely recommended & would stay again.
We stayed at Dries apartment for four nights. The location was in a good area across the river, about a 15-20 minute walk to the city center of Dublin/ Temple Bar District. Upon arrival, Dries had asked us to go to his office to pick up the apartment keys instead of meeting us at the apartment, which was very inconvinient and his receptionist, who we picked the keys up from, was not very friendly. The apartment was fine except for the fact that the heating system went on ever hour only if we turned it on manually, thus we got very cold at night. Additionally, the door to the blacony was broken and would not lock. When we told Dries about this, he responded that the door locks was difficult to work and did not try to resolve it. He did not seem like a very accomodating host. If you have other options, I would suggest choosing them.
The reservation was canceled 56 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The place was great, very conveniently located and close to everything you need. Dries was a good host, although we didn't see him. He left loads of leaflets and maps on the table and a couple of oranginas so we didn't even need to go to the tourist information and had a refreshment ready :) We stayed with our two year old daughter and did not have a single problem.
Stayed the weekend at Dries' flat: cosy and clean with everything at disposition. Location is central, secure and convenient with bars, restaurants and supermarkets right outside. Super close to public transport. Definitley would stay there again in the future!
Great getaway in heart of Dublin. Location can't be beat, especially for the price. It's right in front of a light rail stop that connects you to most places you need to go. Comfy bed and strong shower pressure.
The apartment is well located in a nice area full of cafes and restaurant and well connected. I was welcomed by Dries's friend who was very kind. There were minor issues in the apartment (the sink was clogged by something inside the pipe and towels were not provided) but this was Dries's hosting first experience and I'm sure he'll improve his hosting practices :-) Bed was really confortable, the place is very quiet at night.
Our experience with Dries was great! Agreable and communicative at the beginning, punctual at the meeting and clean, organized at the departure! A great guest, 100% recommendable!
