My name's Sarah and my boyfriend, Juan, and I are two punk-rock, vegetarian 30-something’s who grew up on opposite sides of the planet and somehow ended up together, sharing the dream to experience the world and its many cultures. We’re bucking what seems to be the trend for people our age: career, mortgage, kids; in order to live the lives we want and not the lives that most people think we should be.
It all started in late 2007 after a brief backpacking trip around Mexico’s southern-most states. Our appetites for the thrill of adventure, exotic locations and discovering new cultures was whetted and we returned home to Australia and commenced to spend too much time talking about Mexico. It was somewhere amidst our conversations that we decided we needed to return, and if we were to return why not see more than just Mexico? And so began our new obsession: travel.
We’ve spent the last few years working like maniacs, living on the cheap, brewing our own beer and growing our own veggies so that we could afford to do this. Now we’ve sold everything we owned (except our precious records – thanks Mum and Dad for the free storage!) and are about to spend the next few years embarking on amazing adventures in every corner of the globe. Our plan is to start in Mexico, where the dream was borne, and head south through the America’s and from there, who knows – your guess is as good as ours!
