Beautiful quiet community. Nice thermal pools by the ocean. The house is spacious and has a nice backyard deck and garden. The hot tub was clean and pleasant. The upstairs loft bed is a thin pad on pallets, not too comfortable. The kitchen is old and not friendly for cooking as it lacked decent cooking utensils, pans, etc. The refrigerator and oven were filthy. I love to cook when I am on vacation so this was a disappointment for me. Bathroom is older but functional.
We spent 5 days at the house and it was GREAT! The 45 minute drive out of Hilo was worth the sights along the way. Towering tropical forests and lava beach and your very own space to just relax...a complete getaway for those not wanting to be around tourists and tourist-type accommodations. The house itself sits amidst lush green foliage, banana, papaya, coconut and hibiscus -- you definitely feel TROPICAL.
The house is quite spacious for our family of four. I love the bedroom loft! The upstairs toilet was not working, it would just be better if it did. The kitchen needs more pots for cooking. Wi-FI weak but useable most times. Bonus is the jacuzzi which we didn't use hardly because there is so much to do in the Big Island! Mahalo for a great stay!
We got with Tom at the last minute, but he was still able to make arrangements for us. We only stayed one night so that we could ride the Lava Boat the next day at Isaac Hale Beach Park. This worked out great as it is only 5 minutes away. If the volcano is erupting into the ocean this is awesome. We enjoyed our stay – Thanks Tom!
