Hi there, my name is Jenny and I am 35 years old (the one in the middle). I run an arts hub and theater venue on Austin's eclectic east side called Salvage Vanguard Theater. I am a single mom and live with my 13 year old daughter (on the right).
I can't live without sunshine, peanut butter and banana smoothies, a good book, great friends and lively conversation, coffee, queso, margaritas, the pool, yoga, a nice glass of wine.
I'm currently reading Proust and the Squid, before that I was reading Paul Goodmans Growing Up Absurd. My music tastes are varied, a few artists on my ipod include composer John Adams, country singer Brandi Carlile, Chavela Vargas, Iron and Wine, Beastie Boys, and Missie Elliot. Yes my tastes run wild. I am not someone who often has "favorites". I have been on a documentary kick lately. Most recently watching Nostalgia For The Light about the Chilean contra wars. I also enjoy some guilty pleasures like Community and True Blood.
As far as being your host, I will stay out of your way and keep the house clean. If there is any interest I am also happy to help you find fun places to experience or places to eat.
As a traveler, I pack light and love to feel like I am getting a taste of the real city or countryside, not just being a tourist. I love traveling for work because I find this a great way to connect with people in a more substantial way.
