I love rustic homes, old theaters and classic movies, museums and places with interesting history, tinkering with computers, and have been known to tickle the ivories when a piano is available.
A good storm always excites me, and an occasional microbrew or glass of wine is always calming. I love Northern California, especially the coast, redwoods, wine country, and some of my favorite cities in the world are Seattle, Vancouver, Rome, and Munich. I'm not a vegetarian, but love veggies, especially zucchini. Recently developed a hankering for Indian Naan flatbread, but soft ciabatta bread with butter or olive oil/balsamic vinegar is always a winner, along with a good bratwurst, any kind of pasta, and those bite-size chocolate brownies!
I can live without my iPhone, but I wouldn't want to. Used to swing dance, but not lately. And although my 1977 VW camper isn't eco-friendly, I admire organic, sustainable living, and hope to live that way some day. Some of my favorite books are "Cadillac Desert", "2001: A Space Odyssey", and "The Right Stuff" (the latter two also among my favorite movies, along with "Ghandi" and "Bridesmaids").
I lived in Germany for several years with the military, so I travelled in Europe a lot, plus a decent amount of travels in the U.S., and I really love exploring new places and meeting new people, especially Europeans (even Canadians are cool!) I've always been a cat-lover, but I'm also fond of Beagles and Border Collies.
Since I have friends who are airbnb hosts, and other friends who have travelled with airbnb, I get it: Life, like travel, is about the journey, not the destination. You'll find me a friendly, quiet, courteous guest, and I look forward to visiting!
