Karl was out of town so we couldn't have a chance to meet him. His roommate Terry helped us to check in and out. He was very friendly and helpful. The room had a weird smell and soo cold! The house is kind of messy, at the corridors you can see anything shoes, clothes etc. But, the bed was comfortable so it worked OK for us since we stayed just for one (website hidden): It's very near to restaurants in Shadyside so it gives you convenience to drink and not drive :)
Very nice host and good location! Have a good experience in Pitt
Had an pleasurable stay at Karl's house. Karl's roommates are interesting and creative professionals, informative with suggestions and enjoyable to talk with. Be sure to take advantage of the restaurants and shops on nearby Walnut Street. The house is a wonderfully old Pittsburgh house with wood floors, carved mouldings on the stairwell, plaster walls, a front porch and some stained glass windows. The room is on the second floor. Street parking is available and you'll do OK if you're mindful of any posted restrictions (as in all of Shadyside, parking gets scarcer later in the evening). CMU is close by, it's a bit of a walk to Pitt, but the clean and modern buses run close by and can take you to Pitt or downtown if you don't want to hoof it.
I have known Karl for 3 years and counting. Karl is very warm and open person. His personality is very caring, funny and respectful towards other people and their things. Karl believes it is important to keep his house clean (even hires a cleaning service because he travels so often) - so you don't have to worry about him leaving a mess. Karl has been a good loyal friend to me. He is just a great person. I highly recommend Karl to Airbnb.
