I am trying to enjoy the rare pockets of free time, beyond a life in medicine, to see as much of the world as possible.
There's nothing more enjoyable than immersing oneself in the culture of a new, undiscovered destination. I much rather sit and be amongst locals, eating, drinking and breaking bread than rushing from tourist icon to icon when on holiday. It is in the moments, not the pictures, visiting monuments or malls. Ché Guevara said it best:
"What do we leave behind when we cross each frontier? Each moment seems split in two; melancholy for what was left behind and the excitement of entering a new land."
