I am an architect that lives in Lisbon, married with two children... apart from architecture, this nice old building became by hobbie
Odbierając nas z lotniska ( podróż z nią samochodem to przygoda!) w drodze do domu opowiadała nam o ciekawych miejscach w Lizbonie, pokazywała gdzie jest fajne.
Just returned from a lovely week in Lisbon staying at this apartment in Belem.
Marta collected us from the airport and drove us through the city centre to the apartment in Belem.
We learned a great deal on the drive about the city, the history, the landmarks and how to start to understand how to get around.
The apartment is small but perfectly formed. We were two adults and two kids and we were comfortable with one family having the twin bed room and myself and my daughter in the double. We all slept very well!
Bright and clean, big windows with wooden shutters, a walk in wardrobe, half bath with AMAZING shower and fully kitted out kitchen.
The local Pingo Doce is about 15 minutes walk - bring some fabric shopping bags - and we enjoyed local cheeses and meats as well as pasta/pizza for the kids. Kept cost down being able to cook or make a lunch to take out etc.
Marta gave us a loaf of bread and a bottle of wine to welcome us too.
The old town of Belem has so many interesting things, good cafés and restaurants we dedicated one whole day here
Transport by tram or bus to the city is just a few minutes walk as well as the train to take a trip to Caiscas which we also did.
We bought a lot of tickets for bus and tram travel but in fact a taxi was cheaper at 9 euros from the town for 4 instead of 6 euros per person for a day bus/tram travel.
On our last day we took a taxi to the oceanarium for just 9 euros and had the most amazing afternoon. Then it was just 5 euros to the airport. There was a cloakroom to store our cases.
Marta said it wad a good visit and believe me, we were blown away!
I can absolutely recommend this apartment and Marta as a wonderful host. Having a comfortable and stress free accommodation makes the world of difference when you're visiting a new city.

Marta picked us up from the airport - which was really nice and so kind. On the way to the apartment she told us everything about the buildings and areas we´ve passed by - so interesting and helpful for the upcoming days. Cause of the "sightseeing" we had already an idea, where to go or where better not :)
The apartment is very nice and cute. And very sunny! All traffic connections are nearby. Tram, bus, train...
One day we left Lissabon behind us and went to Cascais (beautiful by the way....) - so easy from there! The train station is 5 min walk away!
And you find very interesting buildings in the neighbourhood too. A palace, a beautiful garden, monuments, museums etc.....
I recommend the flat and the stay in Martas apartment. She is very helpful, the flat is really cosy (not very big, but enough!) and you have everything you need and more nearby.
Thanks Marta!! We just loved it.... Verena & Lars
I stayed at Marta's apartment with some work colleagues before a conference we were attending. She was fantastic! I had flown in from the US and was jet lagged. She picked me up from the airport and let me stay in an empty apartment to nap until the apartment I had rented was ready for check. She also gave me wonderful tour of Lisbon and lots of great tips on what to enjoy and how to get around. The apartment had great travel books and maps and she kindly left us beverages and all the basics in the kitchen. We had a fantastic time and if I ever have the chance to visit Lisbon again I would definitely only stay with Marta. She was wonderful!
Marta is a great host! Since I arrived late in the evening, she picked me up at the airport and even give me a short architectural tour of Lisbon.
This small renovated apartment in Belem is wonderful - it's clean, it's functional & it's nicely furnished. For me the location was just perfect - only 3 minutes from the Belem train station to Cascais (30min) or Lisbon center (15min) and 5 minutes from the bus stop which gets you up the hill to Technical University of Lisbon (bus nr. 729, 8min).
In reality I should say that I do not recommend it to anyone, as I wan't to have it free for the next time I come to Lisbon :-) But seriously, I highly recommend this place.
Great apartment in the Belém district with the best host you can think of! Marta even picked us up at the airport. :) The #15 tram stop, the bus and the train going to Cascais are right around the apartment. The Belém tower, the Monastery, the Carriage Museum, Best Cafeteria with the famous Pastel de Nata are within minutes. Great parks nearby and the Esplanade full of nice restaurants. The place is perfectly equipped with anything you might need. Furniture is comfortable. Grocery store is close by but you can take the tram too, if you need to do a bigger shopping. We had a great experience here!
The apartment was great, the wine was great and Marta was absolutely great! We had a wonderful time in Lisboa / Belém. We recommend Marta and her cozy apartment!!! :)
