We are Carrie and Alain and we live in Barrow, Alaska, in an apartment overlooking the Arctic Ocean. The land is very flat with no trees, mountains, large hills, or bushes. We have snow more than half the year and in the other months a lot of mud and puddles. Carrie works with families with young children with disabilities and Alain is working in a department supporting the local hospital. We live in Barrow because Carrie wanted to do her job and Alain was very patient and loving to come along. We like to read, cook, travel, and play with our family of (toy) cats. Alain likes to do math problems and study Latin, Carrie likes to do word puzzles and bake vegetable muffins, and we both like to explore. We both work really hard for long hours and enjoy traveling because we are passionate about trying new things. We have visited Spain, Gibraltar, Morocco, Canada, Iceland, France, Mexico, Hawaii, and many USA states. Alain has also been to India and Nepal, and Carrie has been to Israel. In Barrow we host guests for free from all over the world in our apartment, and have enjoyed meeting travelers and wanderers from many different cultures and countries. Our profile picture is a shot from our favorite place, Adak Island, an abandoned naval base in the Aleutian islands (between Alaska and Japan).
