I am easy going and nice person. I recommend also the winter time to visit Iceland ... then it is more likely you see the Northern lights etc :)

Asdis is pleasant and very accommodating of all the multiple date changes and check-in/out changes that I made in preparation for Iceland. She was very patient and kind throughout the process.
However, her place was not very well kept for guests. The bathroom smelled like old& dirty cat litter, and her water smells of sulphur. There were cat hair balls on the bed sheets and towels. The bed sheets smelled like mildew.
Lastly, 2-3 days before the beginning of my trip it was especially difficult to reach asdis to confirm her address...I tried emailing and calling and direct messaging through airbnb. Airbnb had to help me reach me contact her. Also, it was not communicated to me that another Airbnb person was going to stay at her place in another room, and he didn't seem to know either.
The area is nice and a nice scenic stroll to downtown. I didn't mind the 25-30 minute walk because of the gorgeous walk by the water.
The room is a great starting point for trips in and around Reykjavik. With free parking at the house and just a 20 minute stroll to the city it's a great combination of convenience and location.
The house and room are clean and well kept. Ásdís herself was very welcoming and informing about activities in the area, both for Reykjavik and the rest of Iceland.
We would definitely recommend this room!
Ásdis was abroad when I rented her spare room, but she made sure I could get in, even late at night. I could use her kitchen and her washing machine and the house was friendly and warm. Room is small but cosy, with a good bed. Close to bus 14 to the Bus Terminal BSI, where long distance buses and excursions depart. And close to bus 12, to center.
Be sure though that you are not allergic to cats - she has two lovely, friendly long haired cats in the house.
My nephew and I thoroughly enjoyed staying with Asdis who was welcoming and extremely helpful and friendly. The location was good and the home atmosphere was relaxed.
Ásdís was not present when we arrived, but her nephew Einar was there and very helpful with orientating us with the town and very accommodating of my early arrival. The apartment is very homey and pretty, the cats were fun to play with! The neighborhood is about a 20-30 minute walk from the center, but there is a bus station 2 minutes from the apartment that takes around 300kr and takes very little time. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you very much!!!
wonderful stay, perfect place near the center of town.
Ásdís' place was perfect for us and her nephew and his girlfriend (who were house sitting while she was on holiday) were great and super helpful! While it's still walking distance to the "touristy" part of town it's far enough away that it's not loud or crazy at night. It was the perfect way to start our trip and we can't wait to get back to explore more of the island!
Asdis is a lovely host and her daughter as well! We stayed there for 3 nights and everything went perfectly. She gave us really useful maps and tips! The location is just perfect, with an amazing view from the windows. The room was clean, and the house cosy. I definitely recommend her place!
Thank you Asdis!
Asdis was abroad when we stayed in her room, but she made sure we could get in (even early in the morning). There is a lovely kitchen, a washing machine and nice garden at her place. The house is located in a very calm and nice neighbourhood, a 20 minutes walk from the hearth of the city, which was perfect for us. Asdis was very helpful with everything and we would definitely recommend her place.
The reservation was canceled 15 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Was great meeting Asdis and her daughter!
If they would be back in the area it would be a pleasure to host them again.
Learn to know an easy going and a true icelander- stay at Ásdis´s place! Ásdís is a great humorist and an artist of life being an engineer at the same time. She is helpful, cheerful, niceful...an old friend which I trust in every matter. Her nice flat is located centrally in a quiet neighboorhood and she got elves in her backyard-. I highly recommend her and her place. NUMBER ONE.
