We live in Portland since 1986. Me and my husband enjoy reading, exercising, traveling.
We both work. But we also enjoy to meet new people.

Place was ideal for our purposes. Nice big space, full kitchen, cable TV and Internet that worked. Easy access to downtown and Alexandra's son Max was very helpful with tips for around town. Would stay here again.
Although we did not have the opportunity to meet Alexandra, her son Max was most helpful, providing an orientation, answering questions and offering directions to various events of our weekend. The daylight basement unit was immaculate. spacious and well appointed. The breakfast goodies in the fridge were ample and fresh. Overall a great stay - we would definitely stay again.
We met Max, Alexandra's son. He was very friendly, informative about places to see, things to do, access to public transport etc. We extended our stay to 6 days as we had been camping for 5 weeks and needed some privacy and home comforts.
A couple of trainees and I booked this basement apartment for a full month as we were new and unfamiliar to the Portland area. All in all, I couldn't be more happy with our stay. The location was tucked in an upscale, quiet neighborhood and I was allowed to park my car in their 3 car garage driveway out of the street. Everything was provided in the apartment including some very thoughtful extras like eggs, milk, and bread for our stay. Another great thing was that we had a dedicated washer/dryer for our needs along with cable, fast internet and all other "home" needs that made the stay comfortable. It's a great value and I would not hesitate to recommend or stay again.
Alexandra and her family were very friendly and the room was great. They even prepped the fridge with some food for us prior to our arrival. Nothing to complain about really. My friends and I had an enjoyable stay.
What a relief to go to some place that is so well taken care of! So clean and neat, and well-stocked (coffee, tea, milk, eggs, muffins, etc.).
It was a perfect spot for us - our kids (6 and 9) had plenty of room to play, and my sister stayed with us as well - 5 of us, very comfortably settled in.
Alexandra is very professional and accommodating. My sister decided at the last minute to stay with us, and Alexandra had no problem with that. We had a little misunderstanding, on my part - I didn't realize the reservation cost is per person, and so it didn't occur to me that we'd have to pay more for my sister to stay. Alexandra very respectfully and tactfully explained the policy. We paid the balance and all was well. As I said, very professional and accommodating. So refreshing!
I highly recommend staying with Alexandra, and we plan to stay here whenever we come to Portland to visit my sister!
My husband and I just enjoyed a lovely month long stay in Alexandra's very comfortable, bright, basement apartment. It is just as described in the listing. Alexandra and her husband were very friendly, welcoming and helpful, and happily answered questions and shared their experiences about Portland with us. Their house is in a quiet neighborhood in a very convenient location to getting into downtown Portland and is also close to main arteries for exploring the surrounding areas. We had our own parking space in the driveway and a separate entrance. The spacious apartment was clean and well equipped with everything you need for daily living. We could easily cook our own meals and do laundry all in our own space. Alexandra thoughtfully provided some breakfast items in the fridge to get us started. The queen bed is super comfortable. WiFi was very reliable.
The apartment was very pretty. There was an extra twin bed in the living room that was great. It is a lower level apartment but with the large windows everywhere it felt like it was at street level except that you could hear lot's of sounds from above. Unfortunately we were there during the big unusual Feb. snow storm and since the home is at the bottom of a very steep hill we were snowbound for 3 days. Lucky that we had enough food which included the bagel, cream cheese, eggs and juice that Alexander had provided when we got there. That's a nice touch.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the apt. It was warm and nicely furnished. Alexandra endeared herself to us by stocking the frig with eggs, bagels, juice, milk and cream cheese....for which we were so grateful having arrived late at night. She had lots of reading material and the kitchen was well stocked. We'll be back!
Alexandra's apartment, in a quiet residential neighborhood but convenient to downtown Portland, was perfect for our visit. Its spaciousness was luxurious, and the well-equipped kitchen (not to mention the breakfast provisions!) was a bonus. We'd definitely stay there again.
