Allana's place is great! It's super close to Fenway Park (literally five minute walk, I'd say), which is really useful because I was in town for the Red Sox's series with the Yankees (Go Sox!). The room itself is a converted living room, so it's really spacious & light, with a sofa & super comfortable bed. Allana was so thoughtful & had turned on the AC in the room before I arrived (it was a very hot day). The place was also clean & I particularly loved the bathroom & its clawfoot tub (useful to soak in during the hot weekend!). I didn't see Allana a lot, as I was out for much of my time in Boston & she was also busy with a move, but we still managed to chat a bit about travel & baseball & museums. She even lent me her Museum of Fine Arts card, which was so nice. In terms of Boston, Fenway Park is a MUST SEE for all of you visitors. Don't just take a tour, try to catch a Red Sox game, because the fans are the best, like real veteran baseball watchers & passionate about the game & their team. Other than that, the freedom trail is fantastic (you can do a free tour hosted by National Park Service rangers or walk the trail yourself). Shopping at Newbury Street is also great & I'd also recommend checking out the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art) & the Harvard campus.
The apartment is very conveniently located and getting around was super easy. The rooms are bright and cheerful and very welcoming. Our host was gracious enough to put small AC units in both the front room and the bedroom, which was essential since we landed in Boston during a terrible heat wave! We thoroughly enjoyed the apartment and hope to return.
This apartment is really well located, with easy access to public transport, and plenty of things within walking distance. (We liked that we could walk home after watching the 4th of July fireworks on the Esplanade)
From the profile we knew that Allana was a dog owner, but for the price we were disappointed with the level of cleanliness. Also, we were in Boston during a bit of a heat wave, and (like the previous reviewer) found the lack of A/C hard to bear. The bed is "full size", not queen, so we found it a bit small for a couple (particularly since we're 5'11" and 6').
Those things aside, we found the apartment quite convenient and enjoyed our stay in Boston.
My adult son and I stayed in this apartment June 22-26 and in fairness, it was unseasonably HOT in Boston during this time. The positive? The location was fantastic! Four blocks from Fenway and about 4 blocks from NEU, both pertinent points of our trip. There were some major disappointments however. First, there had been a dog in the apartment and thankfully neither of us were allergic as there was dog hair everywhere. Balls of it, and no broom or vacuum to get rid of it. Second, if was so hot in the apartment -- no a/c and no fans. When I inquired the owner about a fan I was told she had not yet taken the a/c out of storage. Nothing more. One night at 1 am I measured the temp in my room at 87 degrees. Sleeping with the windows open was ok but very noisy outside between drunks, kids and trucks at 3 am with their backup beepers on. While I was grateful for the two rooms being separate I was so close to moving us to a hotel just to get some heat relief. My suggestion before you go is 1) don't go if you have animal allergies, and 2) check on a/c options or plan on purchasing a fan. This was my first airbnb rental and I think I'll stick with (website hidden) from here on out.
We spent two nights at allanas apartment in June.
It was the first time with airbnb and all works very good. Allana and her dog were very friendly hosts:-). She gave us good tipps about sightseeing and spending a weekend at boston...
The location is good, restaurants and shops and also a public bike station around the corner! We can recommend the room....
Allana was wonderful to work with and she has a lovely well appointed apartment just 2 blocks from Fenway! I highly recommend her place...it was clean and very easy to get to. We used the parking garage just down the street and walked and/or took the T everywhere else we went! Great place!
Our stay at Allana's was great, the apt is really well located and comfortable. Allana was also very helpful which made us enjoy the stay and Boston even more.
The only downside was probably some noise in the street during the night.
But all and all highly recommendable and we will certainly try to return!
Beautiful apartment. Neat, clean, and stylish! Had a great time in Boston and Allana is a gracious host.
Great location in front of Fenway Park and the Museum of Fine Arts. Good restaurants nearby as well. Allana is very easy to work with and a great host.
Alana's place was great. It was a few blocks from Fenway and a short walk across a beautiful park to the Museum of Fine arts. Plenty of great places to eat around the apt and green line is right up the street. Allana was a great host and was a phone call away If I had questions. Overall a great experience.
