Muito obrigado John.
Casa muito (website hidden) boas pessoas vivendo.
Centro da cidade perto.
The place was clean and the location was great. 10 sec from the Metro, short ride to both Union Station and the National Mall.
While I was staying at this property, a pipe in the ceiling above my bed started to leak dousing me water while I was sleeping. Although John was responsive and helpful in remedying the situation, discussions with the other tenants informed me that this was not the first time that this had happened.
5 stars would stay again.
John was excellent and was an amazing help after I had a carbon monoxide scare at another place I was staying. He was incredibly responsive and got back to me right away about my need for a place immediately. He welcomed me upon my arrival and showed me around the place. He also let me know that I was free to text him with any questions that I had.
Since I had never spent any time in Silver Spring, there were a couple times I needed help navigating and he always responded within minutes (usually within seconds) of texting him a question about the area. Additionally, I let him know that I saw a single ant in my room (just wanted him to know), and he showed up at the door within seconds to hand me a can of bug spray. At the end of my stay, I legitimately considered John a friend who helped me out in an emergency, and we ended up spending a bunch of time watching soccer together. Everyone I met at the place has stayed for a long time, which is a testament to the comfortable and welcoming atmosphere at the house.
Not only is John great, but the house is incredibly convenient. It's two blocks away from a Safeway grocery store, and a five minute walk from downtown Silver Spring where there are a ton of things to do - bars, movie theatre, shopping, and delicious restaurants. After only a few weeks' stay, I was a known customer at the Fenton Cafe, and the cheery Ethiopian family that owns it knew me and my regular order. The whole neighborhood is just one of the most welcoming places I've been, in addition to being convenient to the metro to get to my work in downtown DC.
I would recommend staying at this house to anyone, and I will be back again myself for any long-term work I do in the DC area.
I stayed in the converted attic apt, which was quite spacious. The location is great, easy walk to both the Metro and the UMD shuttle, with lots of places to eat nearby. You share the kitchen with the others staying in the house, but everyone seemed quite nice. I would definitely stay here again.
Everything was OK.
Colin's room was small but clean, and the location was extremely convenient to public transportation. The bed was comfortable, and John provided linens for Colin to use. There was free cable with a TV and a desk in the room. It was well suited to working in the DC area short-term. The neighborhood is safe; the police station is very close. Colin would stay here again.
Great & central location. Small room but reasonable price.
John was a good guest. He was very polite and took good care of the space. I really enjoyed hosting him.
