I stayed at Lily's Shibuya apartment for two weeks and it was an awesome experience. The location is fantastic: 4 min walk from Shibuya Station Hachiko exit. And it's also quite big (by Japanese standards of course). Highly recommended.
We enjoyed staying at Lily's place! The description is spot-on and her directions were perfect. The location is great - in a secure building on a quiet side street just a few minutes walk from Tokyo Station and conveniently located close to shopping, the subway and nightlife.
The unit itself is intimate and accommodated the two of us perfectly. There was a slight mix-up with the cleaning staff's schedule but these things happen - Lily gave us the OK to drop off our luggage and we cleared out for the cleaning staff to service the unit.
Communication with Lily was excellent -- quick and easy, usually with responses within a few minutes.
The WiFi was slow for us but that's not unexpected, as apparently previous users drained the service for the month. If you absolutely need WiFi there are a couple of Starbucks within 2-3 blocks nearby or pick up your own MiFi.
I would recommend staying at Lily's place for anyone visiting Tokyo.
Lily was great as a host. She was very friendly and answered all of our inquiries fast. We were able to communicate properly and this made it easier for us to look for the place we were staying. The place was also very accessible, just a few minutes away from Tokyo Station. Great place! Simple, yet cozy.
The house is big itself. It has a kitchen. It delighted me because I can prepare my meal here and don't need to find elsewhere.
My room itself is big and of Japanese style. It is really relaxing to live in such a room.
There is 4 bikes in ground floor. It is great that I can use it to travel anywhere in Himi. When finish my trip I can simply return the bike to house and rest afterwards.
Although there are others living in the house and have to share facilities to them, it is not a trouble but we have managed to have a nice chat together.
After all, the house is great that no other guesthouses are comparable to it. Thanks Lily!
The location is really good and the price fair, but this is apparently an apartment that is used only for airbnb (as is often the case in Tokyo) and since no one actually lives there a couple of things that would normally be in a household are missing. For instance we found no knifes (a lot of forks though) and only one table spoon, so we gave up on cutting an apple for breakfast and two of us ate our yoghurt with teaspoons. This is a detail and I wouldn't even mention it if it weren't for the other thing that was missing which was curtains. This was really annoying considering the size of the window (floor to ceiling) and the amount of lights outside. To be fair: I didn't contact the host about this since we only stayed two nights, if I had done so she might have been able to come up with a solution.
There is a knife & some more spoons in the shelf. This person probably did not really look through before she makes a public comment.
The apartment was in a great location to explore and was big enough for the 3 of us not to feel cramped. The WiFI was slow, but it didn't matter for a couple of days to not be connected as much as normal. The shower was AWESOME!!!
as per other reviewers
Great location in Shibuya
Super-fast and responsive communication
Would suit a couple really well and you can manage a family of 4 (we did) but I think anymore would be a bit of a squeeze
Lily's step-by-step instructions on how to get to the apartment were super helpful, and the apartment was small, but exactly as described on the listing page. It was conveniently located, clean, and comfortable at the end of our long vacation. Everything was labeled with helpful notes all over the apartment. Make sure you read them all first before you touch anything! Lily has truly thought of everything! We spent only one night in the apartment, but it was the perfect place to relax before we flew out of the country.
The apartment is as described. Very basic. Lily was very responsive when we contacted her via e-mail. The nearby Tokyo station is a plus point. The mobile modem speed will slow down if it exceeds the quota given and we have to wait for 3 days before the speed became normal. Otherwise it was a pleasant experience staying in Japan.
The home stay was nice all the facility are in place and working. We were having the back room hence a bit bigger. The room heater is those old school hence night time is a but cold. But the door of the back section is broken and unable to close, don't think it's any issue but if it can be close it will much better as privacy is reduce by half. The section we got is 2 room so the last room's door was working so that broken door didn't really concern us much. Overall value for money and enjoy the stay.
Very polite and considerate guest! Happy to host again any time.
