...from Washington DC
Michael's Condo was basically perfect. Located just a half-block from the metro and very centrally located in Chinatown. The area is quite bustling and multicultural which I enjoy and though somewhat boisterous there was a safe vibe as is the case in all of downtown DC these days. The condo itself is beautiful with fantastic rooms, beds, and bathrooms (with plenty of towels available). Central air was pleasant on the hot days. Michael's communication was great and he met us to show us in promptly. I would highly advise anyone looking to stay in the heart of DC to choose this wonderful spot.
Michael was responsive and very friendly. We arrived late as our flight was delayed for an hour, but when we finally arrived at the location, Michael was there helping us with our bags within 5 minutes.
The location was 4 blocks away from our office and was very convenience. There are many great restaurants in the area and public transportation was very accessible as well.
The place was clean, comfortable, quiet, and well-equipped. If I ever need to travel to our DC office again, I would definitely try to book this place!
Even better than expected. Very clean and comfortable corporate type apt. Great location to access city. Michael was easy to work with and met me at my convenience.
Spacious condo in a luxury complex with everything one could ask for! Nicely furnished and equipped 2 bedrooms/2 baths, kitchen, washer/dryer in the heart of all the sights. Right next to the Verizon Center in Chinatown across from the National Portrait Gallery and within walking distance of the National Mall, the National Gallery of Art and the other Smithsonian Museums, Ford's Theatre and Newseum. It made for a perfect stay for our daughter's college graduation with celebratory dinners at hot and trendy restaurants Jaleo, Zaytinya and 701 in the area. Right on the Metro line and one block from a Walgreen's grocery (!) and drug store. Charles was the perfect host and met us after our late arrival from Dulles with the keys and instructions. We were very happy and would definitely stay here again.
Lovely place. Very very central: lots of noise and buzz of the city.. 24/7, but that is the charm of it as well: always a place to eat or drink and super close to the Mall. Everything walking distance.
Spacious and clean and overall a great stay!
We stayed in Charles' place over Spring Break with our 2 teenage sons, so the spaciousness of 2 bdrm/2 bath was perfect. Charles was out of town but he had someone meet us. She coordinated in advance via text and met us on time and gave a comprehensive overview. I would not hesitate to recommend Charles' place and I would stay there again.
Pros: excellent location within 6 blks of Mall in neighborhood with many restaurant options, comfortable mattresses, nice bedding & towels, good a/c, wifi was very fast, Metro a block away, secure building.
Beware: can be loud next to Verizon Center when there is an event, lots of people hanging out at McDs next door with some panhandling, felt pressure to be extremely quiet in building since another unit had complained about another tenant (not in this unit). Nothing that would cause me to knock a star off...
Suggestions: bar stools or tv trays would be good since there is no seating area to eat and I wouldn't let my kids eat outside of the kitchen, curtains are slightly small so lots of light comes into the bedrooms, sheer drapes in living room give little privacy and no darkness which is an issue with the sleeper sofa arrangement.
We just spent a Spring Break history trip with our two boys - Charles' condo was the perfect launching pad for a ton of activities. Close to the Metro, close to the Mall, right across the street from the Portrait Gallery. Hertz rental right downstairs so we could even go to Gettysburg for the day. Nearby grocery store for provisions to eat in, and great restaurants in the vicinity too (Proof was fantastic). Very pleasant place to spread out when we were actually home (two bathrooms a definite plus). Surprisingly quiet considering we were right down the street from the Verizon Center. It was nice to be able to cook meals in a fully stocked kitchen. Charles' friend Sovini was a great help, making us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this place for your visit to DC!
Fabulous apartment in very central location. We were 2 couples and one of the perks is having 2 separate baths. We were able to walk to most of the sights. Right along the street, you have a slew of restaurants to choose from, shopping, and Walgreen. Located right above a train line (although we didn't get a chance to use it). The host was not available but got his very polite and accommodating friend (Sovini) to check us in. When asked about restaurants nearby, she was very helpful and in fact dropped us an email later in the day to ensure we got sufficient information. Would highly recommend anyone to this apartment.
We stayed a the condo during a conference that was being held at a hotel a few blocks away. It was perfect for us. The only complaint I have, and in all fairness to Charles I did not mention it to him, was that there is no eating/dining area. There are no chairs for the bar and no table. Made it hard to work. Loved having a washer/dryer. I would stay here again. Perfect for families and in a great location. Beat the heck out of a hotel. Dont need a car -- metro is right below you. Close to everything. Cant wait to rent it when I bring my family.
Lovely 2 bedroom condo in the heart of the activities of downtown DC. Great location. Right next to Metro! Charles has a jewel in the middle of the city!
