A little background on me... I have been blessed with the opportunity to move around most of my life, due to my dad being in the military. I have lived in Georgia, Virginia, Hawaii, Alaska, New York and now Ohio. I loved the way that I grew up and would never change a thing... even leaving friends and finding new ones. I appreciate my family, the Armed Forces and my home country of the United States more because of being brought up in the military.
On July 27th, I married my best friend, Curtis. After being engaged for 2 years, the military pushed up our wedding date to July 27th. I am a very lucky girl to have been able to marry my best friend! The military has made me adopt a life motto: "We can't always control our circumstances but we can control our reactions to those circumstances". This is coming into play largely in my life right now because my new husband has been given orders to Korea. He'll be home for 2 weeks in September and then he'll be off to Korea for a solo tour. Instead of dwelling on the negative of being apart, I'm looking forward to my time with him this September and all the things I will be doing to keep myself busy while he's gone.
Two weeks ago, I rescued a kitten who we have named Qtip. And she is finally getting to a healthy weight and I am one proud momma :) -no worries, she will have a place to stay with my parents and does not have to join my husband and I in our stay. She will be taking up a lot of my time once Curtis leaves as will the classes that I plan to sign up for.
After Curtis leaves, I plan to keep busy with my subbing at a local school in Youngstown. I will be joining a cooking and zumba class with my best friend, Diana... so it balances out. I really enjoy cooking and eating... so I need to get moving more with some zumba! I am a positive person overall. I try to find the best in everyone and everything. I love meeting new people and I am very excited about my search for the perfect little getaway for Curtis and I.
