Having stayed with Rich and Gloria a few times now, I continue to appreciate their sensitivity to accommodating travelers in ways that make staying with them really simple and enjoyable. When I learned I had to arrive a little later than normal, I let them know and they were very gracious, assured me it was no problem, and were very kind when I arrived, making it easy for me to just get in and to my room at the end of a long day. It's these kinds of little things that make staying with them work really well for me as I travel back and forth to Philadelphia.
Rich and Gloria were very welcoming and willing to accommodate us even though we arrived a little early. The parking was great, and allowed us to take the train into the downtown area with ease. Our room was super comfortable and Gloria made us some of the fluffiest pancakes I have had in a long time.
The house is continently located near public transportation. Comfy and homey. Breakfast is a nice perk! Had a lovely time. Gloria is a nice host!
Our hosts were kind enough to stay up late and wait for us even when we were severely delayed. We were greeted with a smile and a clean, comfortable, and spacious room with lots of amenities and charm. If vintage eclectic is your jam, you'll be right at home. The bed was comfortable and there was a bevy of pillows to choose from. The shared bathroom was clean and spacious and included a multitude of (provided/forgotten/shared) soaps and lotions. Despite being an old Victorian mansion, the hot water and pressure in the shower were plentiful.
Breakfast in the morning was in the airy dining room and consisted of everything Gloria could think of to make. It was delicious and our hosts were thoughtful enough to leave grab and go options for guests who woke up before the sun rose.
All in all a pleasant stay in a very Victorian home.
What a great place! Rich is a super guy who's a Philly history expert, and Gloria is quite gracious. The room was large and beautifully appointed. No downsides here.
My garden room at Villa Anna's BnB was cozy, well-equipped, lovingly appointed and private with a scrumptiously luxurious bed. I arranged for transportation to/from the airport via Rich's service, and he was prompt and friendly. Over my 4 night stay, I came and went quite independently as I needed to, but at the same time, found myself engaged in delightful breakfast chats with Gloria, Ally (the enthusiastic "room keep") and other guests. I also found time and space for quiet relaxation in common spaces, as well as happily ensconced in my room. The neighborhood has fabulous historical mansions to wander around and admire. A refreshing 20 minute stroll straight down Greene Street (at Carpenter's Lane) will lead you to the lovely High Point Cafe (cappucino, crepes, salads) and the Weaver's Way Coop which sells all the whole organic foods a person could want. Gloria provides a fridge for guests --just ask!
Staying at Villa Anna is always a treat. This was my second time and I am even more trilled than the first! We received and unexpected upgrade to or room. The breakfasts we tasty, plentiful and full of verity. You couldn't ask for better hosts than Rich and Gloria!
We were very comfortable
Rich and Gloria have done it again! They always roll out the red carpet and greet you like a treasured family member! This was my 3rd booking with these gracious hosts and I was rewarded with an upgraded room! Not only is their home luxurious - the food is to die for; a feast fit for a king, or in my case a queen! When I come to Philly, their home is my castle that I return to over and over again because of the royal treatment!
Very nice of you to book on behalf of another guest. He was a good kid.
This is a great couple. They are also Air BnB hosts and know the ropes. It is always great to be able to compare notes on how we each host guests. Really enjoyed both of them and thank Gloria for working on Andrea and helping with her ankle.
When the time comes and we are back in Philadelphia PA. we will look them up. Just really enjoyed their openness and good heart-ed personalities.
Rich and Gloria were very nice guests. They are hosts too, so they know how to be good guests. They left the apt. clean and in good shape. I recommend them to eveyone
Fantastic couple!! They are two great and adorable people, fans of Rome.
I would love to host them back again in our apartment and we highly recommend them to other Airbnb hosts.
In three words: Quiet, clean, tidy. Everything you could want from a guest.
