Il nostro seggiorno nellacasa di Anna era molto simpatico! Era un piacere di essere cui.
Gli Abruzzi sono belli!
La casa e la familia di Anna sono stupendi! Veramente relassante!
I had the pleasure of staying in the beautiful, peaceful apartment of La Vecchia Fontana for a few weeks last year whilst my house nearby was being restored.
One of the most important things to me is the hospitality of the hosts....and here Anna and Tonino's kindness, thoughtful and always cheerful manner went unparalleled!! What wonderful people to have met!! Anna would often leave little gifts of fresh made ricotta, homegrown tomatoes and even cherries from the orchard....such an unexpected treat and made me feel so welcome.
The apartment was just perfect for me...and also when my family visited. It has a super comfy double bed and a single sofa bed. The parking is also private, spacious, secure and directly outside.
The shower room and loo, which also houses the brand new washing machine overlooks the rolling hills and farms, the cherry orchard and duck and chicken pens...the loveliest country views!! The lovely, well thought out kitchen/dining/living room is spacious, comfortable and immaculate and exceptionally well equipped. It has a large fridge freezer and a TV in the living area also with 4 chairs and a dining table. The views from the front through the large windows are breathtaking. Breakfast always taken whilst gazing towards the mountains and forests of the National Park of Abruzzo....mesmerising views and a very relaxing start to every day!
I found the apartment peaceful and private and having a private kitchen was a dream! There is however a little bar/restaurant in the village which is very easy to walk to and serves fabulous local food!! The traditional Italian hillside village of Arsita is only 10 mins away by car and has a bank ATM/supermarket/butchers/cafes.
All in all I couldn't recommend La Vecchia Fontana more highly and the lovely Scianella family with whom I spent many many happy days and nights.
