If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful shelter in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by beautiful mountains - that's the place to stay! The chalet is very cute and cozy, has everything you need - comfy bed, bathroom, well equipped kitchen, all with a touch of rustic style, just as Istvan's pictures show. Evenings on veranda with a book, glass of wine and stunning view, after whole day of hiking, were just priceless...
But what will stay in memory forever are our hearty hosts - Istvan's sister Erika (speaking perfect English) and their mum.
Erika took great care of us - arranged for us to join the group of Hungarian dancers for an extensive hiking trip along the former Hungarian border, in the evening accompanied us for a traditional dance festival, the next day took us for a walk in the neighbourhood mountains.
Their mum treated us with typical Eastern European hospitality - meal for two of us could feed the whole army :) She cooked delicious traditional food - we were looking forward to every breakfast and dinner! All in all, heaven for body and soul...
Later we traveled across Transylvania, now can say that was the first and the most memorable part of our journey. If we had a chance to visit Romania again, would certainly come back here - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
We loved the chalet! Istvan and his family made us feel so very welcome and we were sad to leave. Istvan's mum is a phenomenal cook and will gladly cater for you. The chalet is cosy, extremely well equipped, very warm, and the landscape is absolutely stunning. We will never tire of the view from the verandah. We're keen walkers and the valley and surrounding area is perfect for walking and having the mountains to yourselves, for enjoying nature, and for experiencing rural life. We don't speak Romanian other than the basics but Istvan, his mum and sister Erika ensured that we wanted for nothing. There are shops in the village and supermarkets in Miercuria Criuc for stocking up in groceries. Erika can guide you on walks if you're not a confident walker or want to know more than what the guide books tell you. We loved using the woodburning stove to cook on, but there is a gas hob as well, and it was heavenly to sit out and enjoy the tranquility on an evening. This really is a perfect place to stay, even if you just want to enjoy the peace and quiet. You will experience great kindness, and no doubt leave a little of your heart in the hills.
Easy, good communication, very nice guest, hope you had good time, you are welcome anytime
István and his girlfriend were a joy to have as guests. Prompt and friendly communication during the booking process and in person. The apartment was left in pristine condition so all in all A+ airbnb members. I hope I can make it to Istváns own listing in Transylvania someday.
Muy simpatico, educado y correcto
István was always very friendly and easy to speak with. He took very good care of my house, and any problems where easy to solve. Please come back any time!
Istvan es un perfecto huesped, todo con él fue muy fácil y sabe perfectamente como tratar con el anfitrión ya que él también lo es. Muy recomendable
