Excellent on all counts thus far.
This was a fabulous rental in the heart of Boston. We can echo the words of reviewer Kevin below. An accurately described, well presented and very cosy apartment with everything you need and ideally placed to move around from the centre. We would definitely return here again if our travels bring us to Boston. Very well managed with excellent communication from Elyne, the property manager.
We loved this apartment. It is exactly as described. Great interior design. Very spacious. There is an upper bedroom and bathroom with skylights, and a rear bedroom on the main floor with bathroom, kitchen, living room. The living room is cozy and very comfortable for hanging out watching HDTV. The location is excellent, only a two minute walk to Quincy Market, five minute walk to the subway, several pubs on the same block, also a short walk to Little Italy/North End.
The pub/street downstairs can get noisy, but the apartment is on the third floor and you can only hear the bar noise if you are in the living room. The bedrooms are quiet. The pub owner offered to deliver food upstairs to us if we wanted - nice neighborly touch. There are three flights of indoor stairs to get to the apartment, so it might not be great for the elderly or if you have heavy bags.
Elyne was very communicative before we arrived and made sure we had all the information. There was a slight snafu with the wifi login, but she diligently worked with me to quickly get it resolved. She checked in via email to ensure we were enjoying our stay.
We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Boston.
This home was in a really great location in Boston as it was conveniently nearby the Boston Common, Faneuil Hall, a T station, and a nice assortment of restaurants and cafes. The house itself is definitely spacious with its three stories and two bedrooms/bathrooms and it had a lovely, cozy, rustic feel to it. The kitchen seemed well-stocked with supplies and we had no issues with wifi. The host was also flexible with check-out time.
However, as the house seemed relatively old, there were some maintenance issues. Unfortunately, the heating was broken the first day we got there (which was painful as it was snowing that weekend) - while the host got us space heaters the second night, we were a bit bummed that she didn't treat our comfort as a higher priority. The locks were often difficult to work with, as it usually took several attempts to lock and unlock the doors. The hot water also sometimes didn't last long enough for a 5-10 minute shower and a few lights were broken in the house. In addition, the shower in the basement also did not have adequate drainage and the laundry machine was not functioning on the last day of our stay.
I actually stayed in a different apartment (had some issues switching the reservation on AirBnB) but the apartment I stayed at was also rented through Elyne. It was near Government Center and Faneuil Hall. The apartment was on the 2nd floor above an Irish bar. (See comments about noise below.) It was a lovely open-plan one bedroom (There was no bedroom door so technically it's a studio but the room is separate from the living space.) It was very nicely furnished, with a modern updated kitchen and bath. It was clean and spacious. I have already booked to return to this property. However, I will be upfront and say that if you are sensitive to noise, this is not the place for you. There are a row of Irish bar on the block and there is often live music, drunk people screaming until 2am on Thurs - Sat. The weekdays usually quiet down earlier. The bedroom isn't by the front windows so it is a little quieter in the bedroom but if you have people sleeping on the sofa or air mattress in the front room, it can be very loud. I did not mind the noise, I am used to it, but it is definitely something you should be aware of when booking the apartment. Again, this is not for the Beacon Hill one bedroom but another one of Boston Furnished Rentals one bedroom properties.
Great central apartment, has all amenities and hubway cycle station in front of house.
Great location. Very central. Spacious apartment with everything you need.
Elyne was great communiacting and the place was exactly like the pictures. You cannot best this location!
This is such a cute, historic home in what has to be the nicest neighborhood in Boston. Everything is close by and easy to get to. The house had everything we needed for our stay and is exactly as pictured. There is a fair amount of foot traffic on the street so you will hear people talking and laughing quite clearly, sometimes well into the night.
Never met with host personally, but everything worked out perfectly. Loved the apartment and the neighborhood. Highly recommend it, would definitely stay there again, thank you
Two lovely pleasant people who were the nicest, low-key guests! Elyne was game to get out and about despite a terrible bout of laryngitis and tendonitis. What a trooper! And Malia, her beautiful daughter was gracious and friendly. I recommend them without reservation and hope they will return with better weather!
