I'm a first year student at Tulane University School of Medicine :)
Hillary was a good host and gave me all the privacy I needed. The place was in a convenient location, 15 minute walk to St. Charles, and 30 minute walk to Canal st. but other public transportations are available as well. I would recommend this place for other guests.
This was my first AirBnB experience, and it was great! HIllary could not have been more helpful, including providing food items (such as soy milk) that accommodated my food sensitivities. I hadn't expected that! HIllary lives in a large modern apartment complex, and when I arrived by cab, it would have been difficult to figure out how to enter by myself, but Hillary was there to meet me, so no problems there. Also, Hillary is on the 4th floor and there isn't an elevator, but again, no problems as Hillary helped me get my bags up the stairs. As I said, she could not have been more helpful! You basically have a private suite with a private bath, which was great. The apartment complex itself doesn't have much in the way of New Orleans charm; however, there's fabulous architecture literally out the front door. I walked to the conference I was attending at the Sheraton on Canal Street (so glad that that hotel was full and I had to find accommodations elsewhere!) and also walked to the Garden District. So the location was terrific.
It was a blast staying here! She was so nice and her cats were adorable. I got a little lost not being from New Orleans, but she was a big help. We had tea and had a great chat the short time I was there and she even brought me things for breakfast. Such a sweetheart!
This was a fantastic "first time" for our AirBnB experience. Our hosts were very accommodating, the room was excellent, we never felt like we were intruding or intruded upon. The location was absolutely awesome, very accessible and close to everything we wanted to do. Private parking was a great asset, as we didn't have to worry about what to do with our car. The apartment complex is obviously very secure with locked and gated entrances.
We would definitely do this again on future trips to New Orleans.
Amazing!!! I was in town for work and Hilary went WAY above and beyond. She let me ship my supplies to her house before I arrived, and she lent me her van with minutes of meeting me so I could handle some other work stuff.
The accommodations were lovely, much larger than I expected. Also I felt that I had much more privacy than I expected. Hilary spent a lot of time studying and I spent a lot of time out of the house, but for the small amount of time I did spend with her and her husband I enjoyed their company thoroughly and look forward to staying with them again on my next trip to New Orleans.
The neighborhood is great. My sister and I walked everywhere and never even for a second thought there might be a problem. There's a good coffee shop (PJ's) just around the corner and a play ground/park across the street.
As a dog person it's hard for me to admit this, but I will even miss their cats. :o)
Hilary met every promise she made and exceeded my every expectation.
Hillary, her husband and cats were all great hosts! Hillary was very friendly and helpful - she even bought us some breakfast food! The room was large and clean with a big private bathroom. The apartment is super close to the convention center and a cab ride to the french quarter or business district is very reasonable. A great experience overall!
Neighborhood was perfect especially for going to Convention Center I walked every morning. There's a gym and outdoor pool real close. The place was just as described. They have two cute cats but I shut the door and they didn't bother me. Host is very helpful especially with my last minute plans!! :)
Logement propre et bien situé.
My wife Amber stayed and raved about her hosts, Hillary and Ganesh. She is highly allergic to cats and was pleasantly surprised to never experience one sniffle or itch even with their adorable kitties roaming around as the condo is super clean and hair free! She travels to NO often and is psyched to have found a place affordable and in walking distance to everything she needs! Plus there is a great gym on site she can use and a pool and hot tub to boot!
Hillary was very communicative and flexible with our check-in time! Once we checked in, she and her husband pretty much left us to ourselves, which was ideal. This is a great place to stay if you need to go the the Superdome/Arena or convention center, as we did, but a taxi to the French Quarter is SUPER (!!!!) cheap. And, it's only a few blocks to the St. Charles streetcar line, which is a really cheap and easy way to get around. Our room was spacious and having a private bathroom was wonderful! ...Would certainly recommend.
