I'm from Los Angeles, born and raised. I went to Emory University in Atlanta and got my degree in Business (real estate and finance). I currently live in Manhattan / NYC and work in real estate finance. I love to travel, to cook and to eat.
Please disregard the above review. The tenant is simply irritated by my poor review after her stay. I was duped into believing there would be only 1 tenant and there ended up being a rather awkward, uncomfortable, and messy couple engaging in some type of weekend affair. When i got back there were empty bottles of wine all over the apartment and spoiled sheets, and thrown around couch pillows. Looked like the scene from the end of some romantic thriller. Needless to say, i contacted AirBNB to complain, they reviewed the communication, and awarded me a penalty from her deposit for falsely representing herself. I really don't like being lied to or conned and therefore went forward with the claim to corporate. I'm sure most can understand that.
In regards to the apartment, my brother lives next door and is a gracious and widely available host. The place was professionally cleaned before the above guest stayed at the apartment, as it always is. Any claim to the contrary is simply unfounded. The apartment is up 2.5 flights of stairs in a beautiful classic Greenwich Village townhouse. The hallway and stairs are actually rather wide and spacious as compared to standard NYC apartment buildings. The Pictures are professionally taken by AirBNB itself and absolutely nothing has changed. The reason AirBNB takes the photos in the first place is to vet the apartment and certify its appearance. Any claim to photoshoping is laughable and absurd. Kitchen and bathroom are both perfectly clean upon arrival, as they are always professional cleaned the day before. Fresh Linens are provided for couch and bed. Keys lock both top and bottom lock as well as front door to the building. There are 2 TVs. Both work. Apple TV, DVR, Satellite TV, and surround stereo quality sound. Heat is operated by the building as is standard in NYC and there is no such "knob". The unit has full control over Air Conditioning.
As i said, the supposed "Friend", was actually a travel partner, was there for check-in, and check-out to my host's surprise, and had luggage of his own. He was actually the one who contacted me for keys which took me a back as he was not the person i was in contact with. In the AirBNB model, trust is an integral component. Therefore, the site punished Olesya for her misrepresentation, as i believe is fair. I would warn against considering her as a future tenant and posted a review that reflects this on her page. The above review is simply blowback for that.
