The pictures are definitely not from this property. In reality its a very basic place. That said for the price its great. You get a big cozy bed, hot water, and solid WIFI. Easily the best place you're going to find in India for the price. If you're a budget traveler that's not too picky this place is great.
Mohammad and staff were very nice and helpful for directions, etc. The original room was decent and mostly clean, good space. But had a slightly smelly bathroom and lots of street noise. They relocated me to a back room that was a much nicer room for no extra cost, there was still street noise, but less. The location of the room was a bit further away from central area and sometimes harder to get autos to come to later in the evening, esp since they typically charge 1.5-2x more at night. Overall, Elegant is a very affordable, clean, friendly place to stay in Bangalore if you don't mind being a little further from the central areas.
If you are looking for inexpensive accommodation near City Center , this is a good option. This place is in a great location. There were many restaurants and stores next door, It is a good, clean and inexpensive option. With INTERNET WIFI. Mohammad is a nice and helpful landlord who gave us many tips and even offered to pick up us from the airport and has introduced me to contacts.
I thank him also for his support for train and bus reservations. We had a good communication by email and telephone. Mohammad has been very comprehensivei... Thanks a lot, I fully recommend this place.
I stayed a night at Ali's place. To get to his place was really frustrating. I did sense this before heading to this place as the map showing the place shows some kilometres north of where it's actually located at. Moreover the address given by the host was very confusing, that's why I asked him to write it to me in clear language or at lease in Hindi or Kannada so that I could show it to rickshaw driver. He never did it, despite me asking it twice. After 3 hours of confusion and getting lost I got hold of him through phone and he was very kind to come by and pick me up.
Ali is a very nice person, friendly and genuine so are the staff who work at his place.
Being his very first Airbnb-guest I wish I were a bit more impressed by my stay there. What I really liked about the place were; the staff, neighbourhood and quite good Internet connection.
The room was worth the value as it was among one of the cheapest I had stayed at during the last two weeks I had been in India. Very simple, not clean, squat toilet, no hot water and no soap or shampoo and worst of all in my opinion was the extremely noisy street even at 2 after midnight. It destroyed my whole day... Me spending half of day on finding a new place and then moving into it and feeling tired and lousy for all day...
I really hope that Ali can improve the quality of his place even because he and his crew do a very good job while you actually find your way there. I would've happily paid twice as much if I had a more neat and quiet room and stayed there the two more nights of my stay in Bangalore and would've not changed it into another hostel.
