I was born in Carinthia in 1952 near the Millstätter See (a clear & beautiful lake at the fringe of today`s "Nockberge"-National Park, the typical mountain region up to 2.400m adjoining the main ridge of the Alps with its easternmost 3.000m+ summits only about 50 km from the lake). Since finishing my studies at Graz and Salzburg universities I have been living+teaching in Salzburg, which is 160km north of Millstätter See.
Im pretty sportive, like skiing in winter (including ski tours), cycling, swimming (in the lake or the sea, kayaking, climbing trees (+prune them), as we have so many ...
Although living in one of the most beautiful areas in the world, in Salzburg, I enjoy being at the Millstätter See very much. It is a lot of work to maintain the buildings and the garden but this work has the advantage (compared to a teacher´s job), that at the end of the day you see the results.
And being able to spend my "free" time in Salzburg as well as in Carinthia also gives me the chance to avoid grotty weather as very often the weather south and north of the Alps is exactly the opposite (with Salzburg is certainly being by far the wetter place).
The Millstätter See+Nationalpark Nockberge region is ideal for outdoor activities, hiking, cycling, mountainbiking, mountaineering, paragliding, swimming and other waterbased activities.
And a good place to relax!
It would be nice to see you
Best Regards, Ernst
