The apartment is in desirable location. It is super close to Valle Aurelia metro station. There is a door man who is pleasant and friendly (no English though). The apartment is clean, has beautiful view from the windows, and has plenty of space for 5 people. The kitchen is well equipped with all you needs, although the knives are super dull (I guess the owner keeps them dull for safety purpose). However, there are always some details to think about, such as:
-The standing shower is small, and the water drains very slow. As a result, you may see water on the floor after you take a shower. Be careful as you step out from the shower room, because the floor will be slippery.
-It takes forever for the washer to finish its cycle, and the clothes are still wet after final rinsing. Make sure you ask the host about the instructions of how to use the washer.
The first day we met Lavinia, the second host. She appeared not to know how to greet the renters (or tourists). She was loud as she yelled at us that she had been waiting us for more than 4 hours (the fact is that we did tell the first host Paola that we could check-in between (phone number hidden), and we arrive at 1530) She then wrongly accused us that we did not contact her, and that she called me but I did not pick up the phone. I explained to her that we were in the airplane when she called, and I also did not have her contact information. If she wanted to blame on someone who made her waiting, then she called the first host. We had nothing to do with it.
Lavinia gave us a tour outside and inside of the apartment. She kept saying, "understood?" such as we were children. However, after I confronted with her accusation and her hustle, Lavinia changed her attitude and approachable.
Anyway, the apartment is a germ in good location. After the aggravation of the first meeting, we enjoyed Rome very much. It was a nice stay. We will definitely come back to this apartment.
We arrived after midnight - due to flight delay. We were supposed to arrive around 8:30pm, which we found out that we'd have to pay a late check-in of 20 Euros. Seemed sort of steep, but since we were delayed - at no fault of our own - and didn't make it there until after midnight, we had to pay a 50 Euro fee! Wow! Given that we arrived in the dark and couldn't see the cute neighborhood, at first we focused only on the apartment. The place was clean, looks just like the pictures, but was a little damp and musty and also dated. The guy that checked us in was friendly and helped carry our bags up the stairs. When we woke in the morning and found the beautiful street below, we liked the apartment better :) The location was FANTASTIC! We walked to the Colosseum and Roman Forum with our 3 young kids in less than 15 mins.
We stayed 2 nights at the Colosseo apartment and found the location to be excellent and very close to the Cavour Metro and the colosseo. The apartment is cozy, basic and clean. There are many stairs up to the apartment and a winding staircase to the terrace so if you have trouble with stairs this place may not be for you, for us we didn't mind. Paola was very responsive and provided a helpful guide of area restaurants, cafes etc. Try the Ristorante Al Tettarello located directly outside the main doors.
This is a nice apartment in a brilliant location, however it is a bit musty and has an old feel to it. This is probably because it is difficult to open the windows.
There is a Metro station around 1-2 minutes from the front door, and Paola was very helpful and responsive to any questions we had.
There are also plenty of shops and supermarkets around the apartment to buy what you need, and the apartment itself comes with everything you would expect in your own house.
Great location in Rome! Tons to see and do within walking distance and a metro station also close by. Small but good size for two people, the terrace was nice and a great place to sit outside.
A very pleasant nice young clean, quiet, and respectful young couple. we would love to host them again any time.
