I'm a graduate student at Stanford University, lucky enough to live in one of the world's most beautiful cities--San Francisco! I actually study the sharing economy and homesharing (so sites like Airbnb) for my PhD, so the opportunity to actually host myself is a real treat. I think about what makes strangers help one another, and how communities are built.
Since I was a kid, I've always enjoyed hosting people, friends and family alike. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday -- a chance to bring folks together who don't see each other often enough and express gratitude. When friends visit me, I LOVE giving my them recommendations and helping them get to know the real San Francisco. I love when my Airbnb guests ask for similar advice, as there's so much to share!
In San Francisco, I love to spend time outdoors walking and hiking, try new restaurants and bars, and study with some of our amazing yoga and meditation teachers. The weather, good food, and smiling faces everywhere make life generally blissful.
I love to travel. My family is in the NY-NJ area, so I visit them often. Within California, I love to get away to Yosemite for camping or hiking and hotsprings in the mountains north of the city. I've also spent a fair amount of time in India, South America, China, Singapore, S.Africa, Israel, and Western Europe. I love connecting with really different types of people. My life motto: try to see the other in yourself.
