I was 'imported' from Dusseldorf, Germany by my American husband in 1998.
I enjoy travelling with my family and wish I knew about this website earlier....

Met host Eric briefly. He was friendly and helpful. Great house on nice residential street very close to Northwestern University. Had entire basement to myself; it was spacious, clean and comfortable with separate entrance. Would stay there again!
Great location and accommodations.
Yvonne was easy to reach by text/telephone. We needed only a quiet place to sleep and shower since we were busy with NU graduation activities - her place worked great!
Yvonne has a very private, clean and spacious place at a convenient location in Evanston. She rents the basement of her lovely home. I especially liked the fact that the place has a separate back door entrance. This allows a very desirable host-guest privacy. I definitely recommend Yvonne's place to anybody who visits Evanston.
Yvonne has a wonderful family home and I enjoyed talking about Dusseldorf where she is originally from. Her son Noah didn't just give me directions to the centre of Evanston he actually walked with me until I could see the right route down. I planned to rent a bike in Evanston and cycle to Chicago Botanic Gardens. The bike shop told me they no longer rent bikes. Yvonne's husband on hearing this suggested I take one of their bikes and refused to take payment. Overall a really nice stay.
Clean, spacious and comfortable.
Great House. Very nice room with private bethroom with all you need. Good location close to Northwestern University. Yvonne and Aric are very helpfull and nice hostesses. I am highly reccommend to stay with them.
Great experience with AirBNB at Yvonne's house! Pleasant family, beautiful neighborhood, easy and safe walk to NW university campus or the train station! Will return for sure!
In one word, excellent. My course was 2 weeks of math hell. You can't find a better host or set up they have for guests. If I ever back to Evanston, that's where I am staying!
The space was comfortable, clean, and spacious; Yvonne and her husband are helpful and friendly. That photo may look like an apartment or condo building but it's actually a single-family home, of an interesting design. Aesthetics aside, though, what I care about most in accommodations are the basics. When I’m on the road, my days are full. Above all I want an easy, practical place to sleep and to get myself together each morning, so I can do and enjoy what I'm in town for. And on this trip – with a friend along – we were able to make ourselves right at home at Yvonne’s. Which was exactly what we needed.
