Tom is a very responsive & easy going host, and although we never met in person, I've experienced the communication as warm and personal. Tom provides great information on local restaurants and bars, and tries to tailor this to your indicated preference as much as possible.
The apartment is spacious and has very cosy decoration, you feel right at home. It is conveniently located near (organic) shops, restaurants and bars, as well as the C and G lines. It is an older apartment, which shows in the heating system, kitchen and bathroom, but Tom & Toni keep it clean and everything works as it should.
The location of the apartment offers a good opportunities to explore Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Tom was a welcoming host. The apartment was sun-filled and in a great location (a nice haven from Manhattan). I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Very close to subway and my favorite, the Brooklyn Flea on Saturdays. Definitely have a cafe au lait donut from "Dough" and "apple ginger" or "Strawberry peppercorn" soda from Brooklyn Soda while you are there. Its also a great idea to run/bike to prospect park (same designer as central park) if your into jogging/biking. Thanks Tom!
Tom and Toni were very good hosts. Would recommend this place and area to anyone for a summer stay!
We had a great time at Tom's place! The place is roomy and comfortable. The location is what really made it special for us. It's close to many restaurants and great shops. Fort Greene Park is just around the corner and we enjoyed the Farmer's Market on Saturday as well as strolling around the park. The Brooklyn Flea is even closer with lots of unique food choices and interesting vendors. The Metro is steps away.
The apartment in Fort Greene was wonderful. Clean. Comfortable. The air conditioner was a great relief after a hot day of traipsing around the city. The G line is just around the corner, and almost every place we went in Manhattan was a single transfer away.
I highly recommend staying at Tom's apt. in Brooklyn! It's very clean, quite comfortable, and makes you feel right at home. It was a wonderful place to come back to from the madness of Manhattan. It even has a rooftop where you can just relax and drink a beer!
His apt. is also in a beautiful part of Brooklyn (Fort Greene). Lots of great cafes and restaurants near by, not to mention the Fort Greene Flea on Saturday mornings, a great place to have breakfast and try interesting homemade, local foods. Don't be afraid to ask Tom for a list of recommendations, he will provide you with great places to check out.
I would definitely stay at his place again in the future!
Tom's apt was spacious, sunny, and perfectly located in Ft. Greene, near the park and good restaurants, and not too far from BAM and the subway. Their kitchen is well-stocked and well-equipped. The bedroom was my favorite and the bed extraordinarily comfy. The hosts keep their apartment very clean but the building itself is a bit run-down (the one detraction for me). All in all we had a good stay.
I felt truly lucky to be staying at Tom & Toni´s place. The apt is so adorable and wonderfully decorated.
It´s without a doubt located in the best and most charming neighbourhood. Plenty of cafés/restaurants just around the corner.
A big THANK YOU to both of you:)
My boyfriend and I were very fortunate to spend the summer at Tom and Toni's apartment. Tom and Toni were gracious hosts. The apartment is spacious and has everything you need, including a zen atmosphere. The neighborhood is phenomenal. The vibe is relaxed and friendly. Everything we needed was in walking distance, including several subway stations. We fell in love with the apartment and neighborhood instantly. We highly recommend staying here if you want to have a local experience.
We loved staying at Tom's place! The apartment was much bigger than we had expected (which was a nice surprise) and really nice and light. It is situated in a friendly neighborhood with lots of little restaurants and bars. The apartment is a little out of the way in terms of getting to the subway and to Manhattan, but we were also there during the blizzard around Christmas/New Year's, so the walk through the hills of snow and the unplowed streets took most likely longer than it usually would. I can picture it being a nice 10 minute stroll in the summer to get to the subway :)
Tom himself was an amazing host! He was in Portugal at the time, so all we could do was write emails back and forth, and he helped us out on very short notice and for a short little vacation below the minimum nights he had posted. Tom immediately called up his friends who were just around the corner to help us out receiving the keys and new linen (the guests before us left just a few hours before we arrived). All in all, he was really, really helpful and very anxious for our comfort all the way from Europe in the middle of his vacation and he helped making our vacation a great one!
Tom was a great first guest to host! Very prompt and responsive. Our place was as clean when we returned as it was when we left it. We would host Tom's family again in a second!
Airbnb hosts as guests are some of the best visitors. Housekeeper couldn't say enough about how thoughtful these two were in leaving the home well taken care of. Tom and Toni are a phenomenal couple who would be welcome anywhere. Hope they ran into some great memorable adventures. Come back you two!
tom and his wife were great guest. They took full advantage of our rather late summer weather. They were very pleasant, clean and quiet. Welcome back anytime.
