Great location for exploring Brooklyn but also within easy reach of Manhattan: 15 minutes by subway or 15$ taxi ride from Soho. Also, easily walkable.
The immediate area around the apartment is quiet and safe but with lots of cool places to eat in the evening and great spots for brunch.
On Saturdays there is an incredible flea market 5 minutes walk from the apartment... Bring empty suitcase!
The inside of the apartment is just right for a couple. Very clean, comfy and furnished with really great taste! Wifi worked well.
We looked after Maggie the cat for our four day stay and she is incredibly low maintenance and well behaved ... The only downside is after a few days there start to be hairs around which can be annoying if you are not a cat lover and the litter tray gets in the way in the bathroom which is already small.
What else can I say?? It was our first time on airbnb and we will definitely be using it again and recommending it to our friends!
The photos are 100%faithful... What you see is what you get.
Thanks for your hospitality Summer, fantastic apartment!

My friends and I had a wonderful experience staying at Summer's place. Summer was there to greet me when I arrived in Brooklyn to go over the details of our stay (also very helpful in helping me navigate the subway, etc. ahead of time). The apartment itself was extremely comfortable, clean, and super cute. Windows provide great views of Brooklyn and natural light. The building was quiet, as is Fort Greene; I'm always surprised how peaceful Brooklyn can be at night! Also, Fort Greene was great; there was an awesome flea market going on the day I arrived. There are tons of cute restaurants, bodegas, and bars right in the neighborhood, and it's an easy walk (about a mile) to Park Slope. A subway stop right by Summer's place makes it easy to get in and out of Manhattan as well.
We also had the pleasure of cat sitting for Summer's kitty, Maggie. Maggie is, well, just about the best, sweetest cat ever. She's low key, affectionate, and friendly.
I'll certainly recommend Summer's place to others looking for a place to stay in an awesome neighborhood in Brooklyn :)
Summer's apartment is nicely situated to explore Brooklyn or get the train into Manhattan. The weather was nice the first couple days so we walked in pretty much every direction: Park Slope, Clinton Hill, Dumbo, and of course Ft Greene. And when the weather got colder and wetter, well, the subway entrance was only thirty feet away so we could still get around just fine.
Summer herself made sure we were settled for the week, gave us a few recommendations, and let us know we could call or text for any questions. We didn't have need during this trip but it's exactly what you want available when visiting a big city like New York!
Summer's place was clean, cozy, and comfortable. She was kind enough to wait up for my boyfriend and I so she could show us around the apartment, even though one of the flights was delayed and got in late at night. Her place was charming, especially the shower with the plant overhead! I would definitely recommend staying at summer's place if you have a chance. It was a great apartment in a great neighborhood. Thanks Summer!!!
Summer and her mom were lovely guests, so sorry they could only spend one night. it was too brief!
Summer and Her mom were pleasant and respectful guests. We would recommend them to other hosts.
Wonderful guest! Summer is welcome here anytime! Best to you!
Subletting from Summer was fantastic. The apartment was a joy to come home to every night. It is a bright and open apartment at a great location in a fantastic neighborhood. Summer was a lovely person to deal with. The apartment was in great shape when we arrived and she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She was attentive without being overbearing. After we left she went out of her way to return a sweater that I had left behind. Easily my best sublet experience in NY.
We stayed at Summer's lovely apartment for three weeks during August 2010. It was perfect, I can't recommend it enough. Her home is everything you want when visiting New York -- convenient, clean, quiet and charming. I hated to leave. The apartment is in the center of the trendy but laid back Fort Green neighborhood with it's fancy cheese shops, brunch spots and the Brooklyn Flea -- but I could also be in Manhattan in 10 minutes. Summer was also the kindest hostess possible. Thank you!
