Ciao, sono Federica e gestisco un B&B nella romantica Venezia.
Spero di ospitarvi presto. :)
Important to go with the map from the Alla Vigna web and to know timetables of vaporettos Celestia and Fondamenta Nova. As we knew all that, we arrive without any problem very easily. We found the place nice, very clean and confortable. Wifi and air conditioning. A quiet place.
We had good breakfast.
The last day we met Santos aswell who was very nice.
All we can say are good things about our stay. Thank you to Federica and Alla Vigna! Hope to come soon again!
Our experience at B&B Alla Vigna was very nice overall. Inside the place is lovely, clean, comfortable. We slept great, AC worked well, WiFi worked well (though the signal didn't really reach the rooms, so we used it in the breakfast room) the beds were comfortable- everything was great. Breakfast was simple but included a fresh made espresso/cappuccino which was fantastic. The only issues we had were:
a) finding the place- Venice is confusing to begin with, the street signs and house numbers are not consistent (or even existent in many places) and there is no sign outside indicating the B&B. Also no one warned us that the waterbus #52 which goes to the Celestia stop near the B&B stops running that far after 8 pm, so we had to get off 2 stops earlier and wander for 20 minutes with our bags and all, through a less-lovely part of the city.
b) the B&B is in an area that is not the typical beautiful Venice you may be expecting. It was a short, 5 minute walk to a street with restaurants, there was a daytime fruit stand around the corner, and a slightly longer walk of about 10 minutes took us over a couple small bridges to the edge of the center (many restaurants, shops, beautiful views, etc.) After a day of getting our bearings straight we were fine, but at first glance it was not what we imagined Venice would be.
Also, important to note- Federica DOES exist. She was there during our stay. Is a lovely host, with many great recommendations and information about the city. Santos was very nice as well.
Would definitely recommend for anyone who prefers to be a little removed from the center, the tourists, etc.
Nice quiet location, close enough to everything, but you can get lost returning "home" For restaurants and sight seeing, we recommend heading toward Realto Bridge, which has fairly direct access. Awesome bulk wine shop next door, don't miss it! We suggest the Cabarnet Franc!
Our room was newly remodeled and very nice with a view of a canal. Internet appears to work only in the dining room or lobby.
Our stay in Venice was great. The Bed and Breakfast Alla Vigna is very welcoming and helpful to its guests. The room we stayed in was comfortable and had a very nice and modern bathroom. It was great to able to stay in an area off the main tourist path as well. Thanks for everything!
The Building was a little tricky to find but then again so is everything in Venice so no complaints there. Santos was there to greet us and help us with our bags. The hotel room was largert and very clean the buidling is old fashion but updated with all the modern amenities. breakfast every mornign was perfect. They even make you your own cappuccino! our room overlooked the canal and on the day it rained it was fun to open the shutters and watch out the window and see all the boats go by. would defnitely stay here again and reccommend it to anyone.
What great place everything as
Listed however we did not get to meet the host !! Santos was very obliging and friendly loved our stay
The directions to find the residence well the need to do some serious mapping and simplify the process we struggled to find this place a couple of simple maps to find the waterbus 5.2 Terminal and then clear instructions from celestial terminal to the front door 150 meters then left ?? It was right it just frustrates you when a simple (website hidden) map can make it a pleasant arrival,oh yes not a sign anywhere except on the door bell ciao
Mark & Tricia
Quiet and safe area in Venice, off the beaten path (in a very good way). We had a nice and relaxing stay at Alla Vigna. Yes it is a little hard to find off of the waterbus exit but everything in Venice is, especially since it is unfamiliar ground. We just asked someone chatting in the area and they were friendly to actually walk us over there. (Tip: learn directions in Italian)
I had friends staying very close to San Marco square and hated it because it was so loud. This place is very quiet but is walking distance to everything. But it is best to arrive in daylight so you can ask people for directions if you need to (or have a good map, we didn't have good one). Venice is like a maze but you figure out your way by all the familiar shops once you walk around a day.
We never met Federica but there are 2 staff that are there for check in and breakfast to answer any questions.
Wow! This is a really nice place in a nice (non-tourist) location, though a map would be helpful as it was difficult to find. The room was beautiful and the view was great. My wife and I discussed our favorite place to stay of our five city tour of Italy and this won hands down.
The breakfast was also nice.
The place is in a good location. Really nice and comfortable room with bathroom! We have a wonderful stay at Venice. We totally recomend it!!!
Really great place, best B&B we've had so far. It's actually more like a hotel than someones house. The staff were great, Santos was very helpful, tasty breafast, and quiet and good location in an area that isn't touristy.
