I am currently teaching 6th grade Visual Arts and Language Arts at a local middle school. When I'm not working, I enjoy photography, and swimming and snorkeling in our warm ocean.
Leslie is a very helpful host! She responded to our emails and texts quickly and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. She recommended great restaurants to celebrate my birthday at! The cottage was very cozy, even on cool stormy nights. The shower was stocked with great smelling coconut shampoo and conditioner. We also enjoyed all of the fresh fruit she welcomed us with, enough to last all week! The cottage was everything we expected, her pictures and descriptions are spot on. We explored all sides of the island and her cottage was the perfect (website hidden) to future visitors, look under the sink for sunscreen, bug spray, aloe Vera etc before you buy a big bottle! This cottage is a great affordable option for those looking for a vacation just far enough away from the resorts.
What can I say that hasn't already been said about this incredible accommodation. I really enjoyed my time in kauai and this place made it even better. It has plenty of room to relax and the outdoor shower is a cool experience. I came here for a wedding and the majority of the people stayed in the Poipu area which I was close enough to make it easy to get back and forth. I really enjoyed the lawai area nice and quiet and relaxing you are surrounded by farms and wide open spaces. I would highly recommend this place.
The first thing we noticed about Leslie's cottage is that it is remarkably well decorated and convenient. There is a screened-in porch, a locked bedroom with a counter and refrigerator, and through another door is the bathroom, which is connected to Leslie's carport. The bathroom is open-air, but also completely walled off and private. We loved the fish prints and the light blue walls! Very charming!
The next thing we noticed was that the location was excellent and close to almost everything we wanted to do. We went to Poipu Beach, Allerton Gardens, Spouting Horn, Koloa, the tunnel of trees. These are all within 10-15 minutes of Leslie's house. Even Waimea Canyon and Hanapepe are not far away!
Leslie herself was a very gracious hostess and offered the use of her beach gear and recommendations on where to get good coffee. I would have like to spend more time talking with her!
It is indeed a small but well stocked and very lovely cottage. A good place to explore the south shore. Leslie definitely has a hand to make things pretty.
We spent 8 days in this cozy cottage which is situated very close to the hotspots of Kauai (beaches & restaurants in Poipu, Waimea canyon, Napali coast). The kitchenette is perfectly equipped with everything you might need. However the bed is quite small for 2 persons and the Wifi isn't the best. We would definetly reccomend to stay at Leslie's cottage.
If you are planning on touring the South, East, and West shores of Kauai; then this is the best cottage to stay at. My wife and I stayed 1 week and could have used 4 more days to see all that we wanted to see. The cottage was perfect for our needs.
We had a good time in Leslie's cottage for a 2 week stay. Location is within easy driving to all South Shore activities. The bed was good and cooking facilities adequate for our needs. We would recommend this place for others.
Very cozy, pleasant place to stay. Extremely clean:) Leslie was very helpful in recommending places to eat and see. The screened in lanai doubles the size of the place and is perfect for relaxing. All in all, great for travelers on a budget.
The cottage is LOVELY!!! Everything was perfect, very cozy, extremely clean and new. We loved this place and was an inspiration for us. Kaua is beautifull. Leslie received us with fresh fruit and was very helpfull. I highly recommend this magical place!!
Leslie is a very gracious host.
The location was perfect for us being only minutes from virtually every beach and restaurant on the south side of this island paradise.
The cottage is a no frills BnNoB, which has a tiny bedroom/kitchenette that comes with a small toaster type oven, a cook plate, refrigerator, tv, and coffee pot. No kitchen sink as there is no room or plumbing for one (clean your dishes in the bathroom) you can literally sit on the bed while fixing your meals at the counter.
There is a very nice open air sitting room with a couch and small table with two chairs, which was nice for eating meals and relaxing at the end of a long day of hiking, amazing snorkeling, and sightseeing.
The fun part of the cottage is the outdoor shower big enough for two and has a rain shower head, nice :-).
A hair dryer is provided in the bathroom, but the only outlets are in the bedroom/kitchenette, but you're on vacation, so who needs to worry about hair styles. Put you suit on and jump in the 80 degree water!!! Leslie will provide you with the toys, chairs, umbrella, snorkeling gear, and body boards :-)
The best part of Leslie's cottage is the price; less than half what you would pay at a resort - and the great location, especially if you are wanting to experience Kauai's south side.
I would recommend to anyone looking to visit Kauai on a budget.
We will definitely check with her first on our next visit!!
