This was a terrific place to stay. It was roomy, clean, and had everything we needed. We appreciated the welcome package (coffees, teas, bread, milk, orange juice, and snacks). The bathroom was beautiful and we enjoyed showers and baths while there. Jim loved cooking in the kitchen and we both loved sitting at the table and looking at the view of Greyfriars Kirk and cemetery. It was nice having a clothes washer there as well. The location is great and only a few minutes' walk to Grassmarket and The Royal Mile and other Edinburgh sites. It was a fantastic place to return to after busy days of sightseeing - it felt like coming home. Malcolm thought of everything and had a very informative guest booklet to answer any questions we might have had. We will definitely make this our place to stay every time we return to the lovely city of Edinburgh. Thank you so much, Malcolm, for your hospitality!
The location cannot be beat. The castle is right outside the window and it was so easy to explore the city from there. The Grassmarket has some nice pubs and restaurants. Malcolm's apartment was quite comfortable. We would certainly visit again.
We didn't meet Malcolm but the apartment was exactly as described and as many of the other reviews say, the best location ever. We also had a lot of facilities there which made basically everything very very convenient.
We didn't find the noise from the pub downstairs disturbing at all. Only negative thing I would say is that the water pressure is a bit low. But other than that, no complains at all.... a small, cosy, centrally located place.
The flat was quite pleasant and well situated for a lot of the popular tourist attractions as well as being able to walk up and around the Royal Mile right out the front door. There was easy access to gorgeous walks around Holyrood Park as well as a nice hike up Arthur's Seat which overlooks Edinburgh. A phone was also provided in the flat which allowed for quick phone calls locally as well as to home which was unexpected but appreciated. Overall a fantastic experience.
The flat was amazing for us. It is located in the city centre, certainly close to the Royal Mile and in the middle of the Old Town. Malcolm provided us with specific information to get into the flat and to use the hot water and other amenities. A must if you are looking for staying for some days in Edinburgh and want to breath the life of Edinburgh from the heart of the city.
This was a wonderful little apartment in the best location one could imagine. Morning coffee with the view of the castle next door was incredible.
I arrived extremely early and was fortunate that the previous guest left even early and that Pamela (the owner of the apt) allowed me to drop off my bags. That made a world of difference, and i got to do soo much that day. Her directions to get to the apt and how to open everything was extremely clear but i did have an issue with the key box and had to call her because i couldn't get the keys out. After that everything was perfect, place was clean, bathroom was beautiful, everything was decorated so nicely. The location was pretty perfect, it was on Royal Mile where EVERYTHING is but be aware that she is at the bottom of the very long hill. We were fine with it but might be an issue for some.
This apartment is brilliant. Could not be in a better location if it is your first stay in Edinburgh, or if you are a fan of the Old Town. It is right on the Royal Mile and easy walking distance to all main tourist attractions. Plenty of facilities like grocery stores and pubs nearby, as is the Waverley Railway station. The flat is small but comfortable, clean and tidy. It was perfect for our family of two adults and two children. It would be fine for four adults if you know each other very well! Stairs might be a problem for people with mobility problems. All in all, highly recommended.
The apartment is nice and clean, and in a very central location - Great base for exploring Edinburgh. Perhaps not as "homey" as other AirBnB's we've stayed in but had everything we needed and sits at the foot of the castle - pretty cool. Malcolm sent us detailed instructions on how to use the key safe so we had no issue at all accessing the apartment, and was very communicative throughout the process.
This apartment had everything we require to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. It's location was ideal for us, within walking distance of the station and all the main attractions. The apartment is compact well furnished and equipped, easily accommodating the three of us, four would be no problem. Our host, although not physically in contact, provided excellent directions and answered any of our queries promptly.
